Ashley Jordan is a stay-at-home mother of five who usually hates grocery shopping: the lines always feel chaotic, especially when she brings her children, and the bill can often be more than her family can afford.
But on Saturday, reports WISTV, she was pleasantly surprised by the actions of a Walmart cashier named Sharnique Dasant.
Jordan wrote on Facebook that she normally doesn't engage with people at her local store in Columbia, South Carolina, but this time the woman behind the counter was friendly and conversational.
After all of the items had been scanned, Jordan started digging around the corners of her purse to pay for the bill. It was obvious that the mom was struggling to find the amount needed. Jordan wrote that she felt a little embarrassed:
She gave me a smile and said you guys look like you need a blessing tonight. I just smiled back.
Then Dasant walked around the register and paid for half of the grocery bill.
How very kind of Ms. Dasant. Maybe Ms. Jordan should engage with those around her more often. I have a great relationship with the employees at my local Walmart.

Ms. Dasant is probably not that well off herself. May God repay her generosity many-fold.
“So shines a good deed in a weary world.”
This is how we defeat the Black Lives Matter movement.
This Black girl is doing it one person at a time.
We should flood the nation with things like this, and let the haters just do a belly flop on hate.
This is a beautiful thing to read.
May we all seek such opportunities to better a circumstance in our midst.
I agree. You don’t get rich as a Walmart cashier.

Amen.
Expect Ms. Dasant to be targeted by BLM.
I’ve had people contribute to our meals when I’m out with the children. Regardless of our personal need (we’re comfortable, actually), Got will reward them for their generous hearts.
Ping
Agreed...
I’d like to see people show this young woman with rewards.
Sharnique is obviously a kind and generous lady, but oh is she ever gonna be in trouble with the boss.
God bless both of them.
I don't know why she'd be in trouble with the boss as long as she paid it out of her own money. I didn't read anything that suggests otherwise. Lovely gesture.
Were you quoting Shakespeare or Willie Wonka? Wanna know whether to be impressed or not.
I don’t think you are right. She shed a very good light on her store and herself by personally helping this family out a bit. I think she wont be a cashier for long and will be moving up in that stores management structure rather rapidly. Good deeds rather than being punished do not go unrewarded in multiples. Just look at the woman, Villa, the singer with the MAGA dress at the Grammies. 1200+ on amazon and Itunes to #1 on both overnight.
