Troopers are still investigating but a preliminary investigation reveals alcohol was a factor in the accident.

I think that's a safe bet.

“Chicken”. Almost as fun as Russian roulette.

Having worked for years in a big city ER I can confirm the validity of the lesson that most parents taught their kids:

Nothing good happens at 1AM (or 4AM).

Sorry this happened. I was in Fire Service for years and “Neither were using a seat belt” would just drive us nuts at PI accidents.

A two-generation Darwin Award candidate? Not only was the father removed from the gene pool spectacularly, but so was the son.

I'm just sorry for the family of these two doofuses.

I have only had two accidents ever. One, a girl tailgating me ran in to the back of my truck. Two years later, I was sideswiped by the same car this time driven by her father on the same road. What are the odds?

“Neither were using a seat belt when the crash happened.”

Drinking, not wearing seat belts and bad driving.

Family Traditions.

I worked with a guy who had a head on collision in front of his high school. He was playing chicken with a classmate. They weren’t going fast but there was enough damage that antifreeze poured out the front of the cars after the collision. The bad part is it happened right before the lunch bell sounded and everybody poured out of the high school to look.

I live in the same town & know the parents/grandparents very well. This tragedy has been a huge shock to the town.

I don’t know all the details but I’m not going to speculate because this is too close to home.

The Parents/Grandparents decorate the town park every Christmas & are involved with prisoner rehabilitation. They are very well regarded.

Please pray for the family.

I would have thought they might have known each other were coming but it was at 4 in the morning. Surely they knew the oncoming car was their kin.

I’ve driven a lot of miles over the years and come upon many accidents, some fatal. It would never occur to me to make light of anyone killed in a car accident let alone a father and son. That’s somebody’s loved one and these stupid jokes on this thread will get read by them, you know it’ll be pointed out.

To anyone doing so: stop and think. These are real people, people make mistakes, people die, even people you know and love, even you. What would you think and feel, reading this crap if it had been one of your loved ones?
