It's not a way of thinking, Phil. It's simply acknowledging long established facts.

You're free to ignore thousands of years worth of elementary real world observations, mathematical analysis, study, exploration, logical conclusions, and scientific proof, if you wish. That's certainly your choice.

It's a fact that I can see things that your "long established facts" tell me I shouldn't be able to see with my own two eyes yet I still can.
