Glad to see the working and sporting dogs winning more lately, instead of the fashion accessory breeds.

I confess the first time I saw the headline, I thought “I don’t care who won, and I certainly don’t care about a rumor about who won.” Then I happened to see a news report on TV about it, but my only thought was “so the German Shepherd actually ended up winning it.” When I saw the headline again, the light bulb finally clicked on.
We found one. Vet swears she’s a gs mix but she’s small. 8 months old and only 30 lbs. she has the gs markings and face and ears. Smart as a whip but hyperactive as heck. Lol

Everyday I ask myself......what did we do?!?! I have figured out a way to exercise her though. I run her twice a day with my bike. They actually make bicycle leashes. Who knew? Lol. I’m still looking for the optimum distance that will slow her down a little. So far we’ve hit 2 miles and nada.
The good thing is she absolutely loves to run! In fact it’s time for her run now.
The little Pekingese was so cute looking at the judge with its (the dog’s) begging eyes.

Me too but when you look under the hood, as it were, Westminster is a nightmare.
For example, the Dobermann who won BOB is a vWD carrier and out of the bloodlines known for carrying the fatal DCM genes.
*Why* would anyone show that dog, much less guarantee that it will now be the stud of the month, passing along all that bad genetic crap to puppies?
All the breeds have these dirty little secrets but the breeders don’t care, so long as they get that win.
