“When you consider that some scumbag might *sue* you because your good dog bit them while they were trying to rape you or break into your house, it’s better to be honest *and* choose a good insurance company.”

Yes that is true about a lot of dogs. Someone breaks into your home, your “guard dog” does his/her job and some reason the courts blame the dog? This is where you get your shotgun out and finish what Fido started, that is if your state has Castle Laws yes I said it to...That way you are not saving your dogs life.

Yet they do rank high on dog bite reports.

You’re screaming to the choir, here.

Dobermanns are considered “killers” yet there’s only been about 9 cases in all of history, and 99% of those, were done in *defense* of their owner.
[I see *no* down side, to that]

The ultimate irony would be that the cop with the GSD K9 partner, would be denied coverage, simply because “scary”.

Breed bans are BS.

If they’re going to favor some breeds they should charge based on the amount of noise those yappy little bastids make, and on the quantity of meadow muffins visited upon neighbors yards.

My insurer, USAA, has never asked me. One of my dogs is half AST and half Black Lab. The other’s a Great Dane. Could be a problem with some insurers.

Dobies are killers? Maybe to your living room couch! No couch is safe I tell you!

Couches are a problem with big dogs. Six months after I adopted my Great Dane what was “my” couch became his couch, and has remained his ever since.

Maryland, of all unexpected miracles, has an epic Castle Law.

And this is on the front of my house

We had a double rash of thefts all around my area a couple years ago and we were the *only* place not hit.

We're also the only place with Dobermanns.

Go figure.

“Mix” is a problem.

At some time in the past someone on a FR thread reported that he had checked a local pound adoption page. Most of the “mixes” were obviously mixed with “pit pull” types.

That I think is what insurance companies are worried about.

*American* line Dobes are dumbed down to mushy ornaments.

I have Euro Dobes.

Most unwise to enter my property without an invitation.

:)

They absolutely *are*.

What is tolerated as “cute” behavior in a tiny dog is deadly behavior in a larger dog, so the little dogs are coddled and never corrected.

YouTube is *full* of little dogs doing horrible things that I would *never* allow my dogs to do.

I bought two This End Up twin solid pine bed frames and put mattresses on them.

That way, we all have our own daybeds to sit on.

Not that it matters, because the pack still insists on piling on me, because...”alpha bitch”.

:D

What I meant to say is Dobies will tear up a living room couch, if you let them.

...some Muslims DO assimilate and DO contribute positively to our society. I already knew that, but it’s good to see new evidence of it as well. I’m realistic, but I don’t like ‘throwing a blanket’ over an entire group. We are all Americans here.

The problem with your correct assumption is that because of the Muslim policy of taqiyya, there is no way to tell who is sincere and who is being deceptive, awaiting a time when your guard is down to move in for the kill.

Which very likely indicates that the thief is local or has done considerable surveillance.

I love the pictures on my FB page. Just learned today that a cousin has been named coach of the year in another state. I do not post very much personal info due to personal reasons. I did post a picture of my giant amaryllis. It is a beautiful red and really easy to grow. I keep up with relatives, new friends and friends from when I started school in 1950 and college in 1962. Learned about a classmate's death on there last night. We are all getting older. My high school business teacher celebrated her 90th birthday yesterday. It was great seeing pictures of her and classmates who gave her a party. I also learned that a friend had a stroke. Now, that is odd. I had been thinking about her for the past few days and was going to drop by church tomorrow to see her. FB to s what the user makes it.

Yeah, that is true, but only if you don’t let them be constantly stuck to your side, 24/7.

:D

I have had ALFA since the 70’s and never had a problem with it. My house and car is insured with them.

I’d go with State Farm just for that one commercial:

But I hear some good things about them overall.
