The 3D-printed hands have individual solenoids that allow each finger to cover and uncover the holes on a real bagpipe...
The main limitation of the robot is that it requires a human to blow into the instrument. Thats certainly not ideal if you want to listen to the sweet sounds of Scotland 24/7/365, but XenonJohn says hes working on a new version that includes an air pump to automatically blow air into the bagpipes.

A severe violation of the first law of robotics.
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)

Ye’re nae gude ye’re but a pack o’ bolts, robot me laddie.

In my experience, an important attribute of bagpipe players is that they get drunk and stop.
This is a step backward.

The difference between bag pipes and a chainsaw is you can tune a chainsaw.

Q: Why do bagpipers walk back and forth when playing?
A: It's harder to hit a moving target.
