[Vanity]Does anyone remember Al Franken on SNL?

Does anyone remember watching SNL when Al Franken was there? He was part of a duo called "Franken and Davis".

The reason I bring it up, is because it bugs me that no one ever talks about this. When the announcer would introduce "Franken and Davis", he always added, "Brought to you by the American Communist Party. Sooner or later we will all be communist."

That was the intro every time they appeared on SNL.

The reaction of the crowd was always very hushed. It was almost like there was disbelief.

I want someone in media to ask Al Franken to his face if he's still a communist. I want him to be accountable for it.

...my 2cents

Yes. He played the fool - a part that comes naturally to him.

They were the skits on the show that were never funny. I always used that time to go take a leak.

Of the cast members on SNL in those days, “Franken & Davis” were on the bottom of the talent heap. Nothing they ever did was in the least bit funny.

The Minnesota comic never was funny.

Only as part of the "Franken and Davis" duo ...

And I always thought that Tom Davis was the better comedian of the two ...

Yeah. I remember they put this loser on when they ran out of material for the week. His humor was dry, bland and......not funny

Al Franken was the smarmy one and Tom Davis was the earnest midwesterner. There was an inflated Chevy Chase-sized ego inside that runt that should have sent off alarm bells early. After failing to make the transition to Hollywood, Franken did the only thing left to him--run for office.

Like Rush is fond of repeating: "Politics is showbiz for unattractive people."

Al Franken looks like a bad character on Batman. Trump is Batman!

“I want someone in media to ask Al Franken to his face if he’s still a communist.”

You can ask him at a CNN town hall when he runs for president in 2020. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/02/06/why-al-franken-makes-a-weird-amount-of-sense-as-a-2020-candidate/?utm_term=.4af44d536ab4

“”””””””””””The Minnesota comic never was funny.”””

That’s because he is a New Yorker. He was born in New York. Came to Minnesota during his school years. Left in 1969 and never came back.........until he ran for office and pretended to be a Minnesotan.

I do remember him a a big fat idiot who dressed up in a baby’s diaper and a little bonnet atop his oversized, jowly head.

He was and is an idiot in spades and a testimonial to the cluelessness of those Minnesotans.

Al Franken BECAME Stuart Smalley.

“I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!”

Pretty arrogant for a person afflicted with terminal narcissism. Or maybe it is part of the syndrome.

If Franken runs in 2020, Jill Stein should be his VP candidate...

Do I remember? It’s all I see whenever I see his name mentioned. It’s probably because I dumped TV in 1997 so the last stuff I saw is what I remember the most.
