the NuGalactica was a pc dud. The writers literally admitted they selected stories on what would outrage the most viewers. (weird alternative relationships) They copped out by saying everyone was a cylone. Gender switching characters and proleftist newspeak only left a desire for all the characters to die out by the third or fourth episode.

the movie rights are severalty owned so a re-re-reboot to the original story is possible.

Not necessarily. I saw him on a talk show years ago. He had some quack with him who was making this claim but heard later that Dirk was diagnosed with a tumor which was never biopsied.
Call me skeptical but I saw a “diet counselor” making a lot of money off of a gullible celebrity.

I forgot all about his role on “The Streets of San Francisco.” Thank-you for the reminder.

Well, you missed out because the female role of Starbuck was outstanding. I hate almost everything TV, but this series was a winner.

Yep. I loved the reboot as well as or netter than the original. It took me about two episodes before I got comfortable with the female Starbuck then I was hooked.

Last year I was able to snag the whole series on Blu Ray from Amazon for under $60. It was the British copies but the only different thing was the box and covers. Some people complained the background music was different in places but my set is identical to the more expensive US set.

Some of it was good but in the end I found it disappointing, several lame elements. The ending was crap.

I won’t totally poo-poo the reboot, but given the choice I’d certainly rather rewatch the original (which I watched as a kid on I think the sci-fi channel) which many fans of the reboot (who seemed to openly disdain sci-fi and admit to never watching usually) derided as “Bonanza in Space”.

My brother who voted for Sanders loved it, though he agreed with me that the ending was crap.

Re:

Ah yes, Maren Jensen... sweet, sweet Maren--

Gadzooks--- I mean to... tell ya--

She could rock... that flight suit!

Oh, Bendy! Where... did she get those boots?

Not now, Leela-- Maren had the face... of an angle--

And she took one hell... of bath!

Bendy-- I thought that... was in confidence?

It was, Maren... That is--

Until the Japanese started making your... sex doll!

Commander Adama, permission... to kill a robot, please?

Of course, Athena, if you can... get me a discount one of your dolls.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Old Blue... but that's not Maren--

Here is Picasso's painting of her... She's at the far left--

And, of course, that was the last time... we invited old Pablo to any of the Galactica episode wrap parties.

Yeah, we banned him... from all Avenger events.

Same here in Gotham City... especially after--

He painted Robin... on 'Come as your Favorite Lesbian Night.'

I paint what I... see, you barbarians!

Handsome man. I remember the face but I can’t really recall the show. Rest in peace, Mr. Hatch.

Beautiful girl. Intelligent, too. She’s 60 now:

While still in college, Maren began a modeling career. She was featured on the covers of Vogue and Mademoiselle. A mutual friend introduced her to the agent Barbara Gale, who helped arrange two network commercials and a role in The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries in 1977. In 1978, Jensen starred in Battlestar Galactica. She was featured on the cover of TV Guide in April 1978. Her last known role was in Wes Craven’s 1981 horror film Deadly Blessing alongside Sharon Stone. Her career was cut short by illness, after she contracted Epstein-Barr Syndrome.[1]

Jensen was a longtime companion of singer-songwriter Don Henley. In 1982, Henley released his first solo album, I Can’t Stand Still, and dedicated it to her. She is credited for “Harmony Vocals” on the song “Johnny Can’t Read,” and is credited in the liner notes for having composed the piano intro and interlude on the song “A Month of Sundays” on Henley’s 1984 album Building the Perfect Beast. She appeared in the video for Henley’s song “Not Enough Love In the World” in 1985. Henley and Jensen were engaged, but they separated in 1986.[1] Jensen helped Henley establish The Walden Woods Project in the early 1990s, an organization dedicated to protecting the Walden Woods in Massachusetts from development.

I saw The Modern Lovers live in the early 80s:

Who else would write a song about Pablo Picasso? :)

Me too.

I also have never seen the reboot. Starbuck...a chick? That’s ok.

A friend of mine met Mr. Hatch several years ago and said he was very friendly and cool.

Another piece of my childhood gone. RIP.
