Yes, the reboot of BSG was a success. I was leary about it because of my dedication to the original BSG. But I decided to give it a chance and I’m glad I did. It was well done. Those two very good BSG shows with the dud ‘Galactica 1980’ in between. I also like the follow on Caprica series and wish it would have been renewed.

The Landram didn’t get a whole lot of airtime but it was a favorite of mine too.

He did pretty well as Dan Robbins.

Loved him as the original Philip Brent on All My Children. He was quite a heartthrob back then.

I’ll have to check out the reboot some day. I’ve been watching old sci-fi shows with my kids (tonight we are watching an episode of Star Trek NG) and when I run out of one of the series we have been watching, i’ll look at replacing it with the BSG reboot.

Interestingly, Hatch died just a year younger than Lorne Greene when he passed in 1987 and the same age as John Colicos (Baltar) when he died in 2000.

The original BG cast really got screwed. Universal should have brought them back for a revival at least by the late 1990s during Hatch’s revival efforts and when Colicos was still alive (Glen Larson, too, and he could have played a role). And if the studio was too worried about the cast “being too old,” Hatch had plans to have a young cast eventually take up the baton. It could have worked out.

Instead we got the reboot series, which pretty much slammed the door on getting the old cast back ever. To this day, I still haven’t seen the new series (though I plan to look at it eventually, if only to render a final judgment on it).

And Maren Jensen should have worn that flight suit from the pilot throughout the entire show. ALWAYS.

the BSG reboot, isn’t as ‘kid friendly’ as the original series, but if they are 12 or 13, they should be old enough, athought, there isn’t anything that blatant in it. Think of it being like the ‘adult westerns’ like “Gunsmoke” or “Have Gun, Will Travel.”

The reboot series is excellent. You will be impressed. It’s a very good dark drama and the plot is fantastic.

I watched the pilot for the reboot. As soon as I saw female Starbuck waving her “penis” around, I was out.

Well, you missed out because the female role of Starbuck was outstanding. I hate almost everything TV, but this series was a winner.

I have lately been lamenting the passage of a lot of actors I liked, and especially those involved in Science Fiction. I was SHOCKED at how many actors from "Babylon Five" had died. Jerry Doyle died last year.

Jerry Doyle had a recent conservative AM-talk radio show.

British Shakespearean actor, John Colicos, who played BSG's Count Baltar, died a few years ago.

Colicos: Make that Canadian—and died in the year 2000.
