<>4-year-old cricketer dies after he was hit by a stump thrown by an angry batsman during a friendly game
A 14-year-old cricketer has died in Bangladesh after he was hit by a stump thrown by an angry batsman during a friendly game between neighbourhood teams, police said Monday.
Faisal Hossain was fielding in the southeastern port city of Chittagong when the batsman was given out, assistant police commissioner Jahangir Alam told AFP.
"The batsman was furious when he saw that he was stumped or bowled out. He grabbed a stump and threw it in the air. The stump hit part of the neck and head of Faisal who was fielding close to the wicket," he said.

This is why we can’t have lawn darts anymore.
Ahem. The Batman NEVER kills. Must be an impostor. . .
(grin)
Doesn’t seem like a friendly game to me.

Didn't an Aussie die last year when he was hit in the head by a pitch? If I recall they changed the design of the helmet because of it.
Sticky wicket, what.....
That’s not cricket
What I did notice is that the pitcher was doing one heck of a lot of running.......
Hurled a stump? Sounds more like the Incredible Hulk than Batman to me.
Nerf Cricket?
Did he actually rip the stump out of the ground?
It’s just like baseball, only completely different.
LOL!
That’s bats, man...

(Seriesly, thank you for explaining what a "stump" is.)
It's a way for HOMOs to get together!
For one, a cricket stump is not exactly “heavy.”
Second, look at the mode of dismissal that made the batsman furious: the report said he was out “stumped” or “bowled.” Both those modes of dismissals involve the stumps or the bails on top of them being disturbed, if not ripped out.

The Australian incident happened in late 2014 and was an accident.
This is, well, homicide.
