Trump insistent about voter fraud; says people say 'I am right'

President Trump is sticking with his argument that millions of illegal immigrants voted in the 2016 presidential election, amid calls for him to provide proof and questions about whether he’ll indeed have an official probe into the issue.

“Many people have come out and said I am right,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly to be aired Sunday before the NFL Super Bowl.

[......]

Trump also said in the Fox interview that he has "respect" for Russian President Vladimir Putin, but that respect does not mean they'll get along.

"I say it’s better to get along with Russia than not,” he said. “And if Russia helps us in the fight against ISIS, which is a major fight, and Islamic terrorism all over the world -- that’s a good thing. … Will I get along with him? I have no idea."

Pressed about Putin's history of violence, Trump said: "There are a lot of killers. We’ve got a lot of killers. What do you think? Our country’s so innocent?

First of all, it’s ridiculous to argue about moral equivocating between two nations. While the actions of persons are (hopefully) guided by moral principles, the actions of nations are guided by the rules of power as applied by whichever group is IN power. Nations are inherently amoral. They HAVE to be.

For example, if the US discovered a way to destroy the military capacity of a serious rival such as China with zero risk to US persons or interests, do you seriously think some kind of moral argument would step in and say, “We can’t inflict all that death and destruction on Chinese forces, even at zero risk to the US, because it would be wrong.” No. When playing at that level, the questions revolve only around the art of the possible.

In terms of who kills the most and does it best NOW (as opposed to the era of Stalin and Hitler), absolutely we win hands down. Trump now knows how many kill or capture missions US special forces carry out all over the world each day. We have hundreds of military outposts throughout the world. What the Russians have in the same terms could probably be counted on your fingers.

And then there are the drone strikes, many of which are “double tap” to take out the first responders as well. The recent history policy of the US has been perpetual war. That policy has been pursued because it’s economically lucrative for powerful interests, and because it’s politically lucrative in this age of fear. Cold War, War on Drugs, War on Terror most recently. Perpetual low-intensity war.

If you’re going to have a war on terror, you must have a steady supply of terrorist recruits. You must cultivate your enemies as if they are a crop. In that effort, drone strikes are effective, and politically expedient because they don’t result in flag-draped coffins and weeping families, here. Over there, who cares? Nations are amoral.

What I find interesting is, if Trump is willing to at least touch on the honest truth, will he try to shift bedrock US policy away from perpetual war? Is such a thing even feasible? Remains to be seen.

Ok to what was Trump referring?

Read the article you posted: "Pressed about Putin's history of violence, Trump said:"

This clearly was moral equivalence between a largely good USA and a mostly bad Russia.

I don't mind when the liberals conflate unrelated issues and are dead-wrong, but I do mind when our side does it.

Context.

Context.

Context.

Example: Large numbers of non-citizens were reported registered to vote in Virginia (as well as citizen felons and others not eligible).

Of those registered non-citizens, how many had votes cast in their name by citizens, agents of McAuliffe? This would be far more than votes by the non-citizens themselves.

I speculate that the McAuliffe-Kaine operation is very much like Illinois. In Illinois it is patronage employees and contractors of incumbent government who vote using the names of non-citizens, the names of the dead, and especially the names of those who moved and are still registered at their old address.

Lol you sure didn’t do any drum beating. Here are the facts: POTUS compared the USA to an autocratic nation that since 1917 has been responsible for 10s of millions of murders and all too many freepers are so willfully blind that they twist themselves into pretzels trying to defend these comments by President Trump.

Lol Jim. The last refuge of Freepers who don’t want to face the truth about indefensible comments by President Trump. “Oh go vote for Hillary!” Yawn.

I voted for Trump, because the choice was someone w a successful track record in business who seems to stick his foot in his mouth from time to time (that’s Trump, for those of you in Rio Linda) vs. an actual criminal w far left views (that’s Hillary for those of you in West Palm Beach )

The choice was pretty easy. (Trump, for you Freepers in you-know-where)

In this case, Trump compared the USA to an autocratic Russia that has been the political murder capital of the world since 1917. Go ahead and defend that Freepers. So far you haven’t.

From a transcript of the Rush Limbaugh show in which Rush notes that he can totally understand alarm bells going off because it seemed as if Trump was attacking American exceptionalism. We’ve had eight years of former president Obama running down the USA as being equivalent to totalitarian dictatorships worldwide, and it’s pretty irritating to hear something from President Trump that sounds pretty close.

here’s the excerpt — and showing that it’s clear that this could be the interpretation of what Trump said

>>>> Here’s the Sky News report on the Trump-Putin dustup. Bill O’Reilly used the word “killer” while pressing Trump on whether he thought he would get along with Putin. O’Reilly said, “Putin’s a killer.” Trump said, “There’s a lot of killers. We’ve got a lot of killers. What? You think our country is so innocent?” That’s what set off the fire alarms. “You think our country’s so innocent?” No. No, no, no. Don’t misunderstand. I can totally understand people reacting to that.<<<<

here’s the link. For those of you in Rio Linda, or West Palm Beach, that’s on the Internet

Good sit it out and go to hell. Your vote didn’t count anyway.

It used to be a general rule on FR that you could spot the trolls by the fact that they used hyper patriotic names or emphasized "conservative."

Moved the goalposts, dijya? LOL

Previously, it was President Trump drawing moral equivalency of America to Stalin’s Soviet Union.

When I pointed out (correctly) that this was in context to someone asking about Vladimir Putin, and not Josef Stalin, you switch up to “Trump is running down USA like Obama did.”

Ok. I get it. Changing the topic has worked to distract others in the past, for me, too.

But it doesn’t work on me.

After having CLEARLY and SLOWLY explained to you that the context was NOT as regards Stalin, and that the context was NOT as regards " an autocratic Russia that has been the political murder capital of the world since 1917", but WAS in context of a DIRECT question about VLADIMIR PUTIN....

.... you return to the exact same, incredibly wrong, conclusion.

If you need me to repost in much larger font, I will ... that is, if it helps you understand.

PS: Poking Jim Robinson often results in bad outcomes.

Will type really slow so even you can comprehend, Lazamataz. Trump clearly was drawing a moral equivalent between the U.S. and the Murder Capital of the world since 1917, Russia.

“They kill. We kill. It’s all the same” that was a paraphrase, not a direct quote, Lazamataz because clearly those things need to be spelled out to you. That’s a moral equivalence. The USA has been the greatest force of good in the world for well over a century now. Russia over the same 100 years? Not so much.

Here’s Rush Limbaugh, a link and an excerpt regarding this moral equivalence - https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2017/02/06/the-left-suddenly-believes-in-american-exceptionalism/

Excerpt from Rush Transcripts for 2-6-17 —

“O’Reilly said, ‘Putin’s a killer.’ Trump said, ‘There’s a lot of killers. We’ve got a lot of killers. What? You think our country is so innocent?’ That’s what set off the fire alarms. “You think our country’s so innocent?” No. No, no, no. Don’t misunderstand. I can totally understand people reacting to that.”

Oh, and I don’t care whom I poke - If Jim Robinson says something simplistic like “Oh, maybe you wanted HRC to win instead of DJT so she could invade Russia” - POKE - that’s lazy analysis, in my opinion, and if it “results in bad outcomes” oooooh, you really make me shake in my boots, Lazamataz.

That was sarcasm, BTW, Lazamataz. Keep it coming, so far, you’re as silly as the rest of the replies. Actually, you’re even more silly.

Did I type slooooooooow enough for you Lazamataz?

You incredibly ignorant freak, incapable of understanding simple concepts, I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that English is your second -- no, your THIRD -- language.

Because you have the mental capacity of a dead, rotting turnip, I will AGAIN SLLLOOOOOOOOOOWLLLLLLY type it out for you, in a VERY large font, but I have no hopes you will get it. Single-celled organisms such as you have no brain, no brain stem, no nervous system -- NO intellect.

THE CONTEXT WAS NOT AS REGARDS STALIN!
THE CONTECT WAS NOT AS REGARDS "AN AUTOCRATIC RUSSIA THAT HAS BEEN THE POLIICAL MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD SINCE 1917!
THE CONTEXT WAS IN RESPONDING TO A *DIRECT* QUESTION ABOUT VLADIMIR PUTIN!

I know that you are intellectually incapable of understanding the concept of context, but even if you were, you are such a fake and a fraud that you would continue to smear Donald Trump on your falsehoods. Whyt are you even on this site, you creepy loser NeverTrump pathetic clown-shoe-wearing razor-blade-eating pillowbiter?

Oh, and I don’t care whom I poke - If Jim Robinson says something simplistic like “Oh, maybe you wanted HRC to win instead of DJT so she could invade Russia” - POKE - that’s lazy analysis, in my opinion, and if it “results in bad outcomes” oooooh, you really make me shake in my boots, Lazamataz.

Go ahead. Ping him direct. Put Jim Robinson in his place. Make him feel your wrath!

Laz, you prove it with your posts here, and sadly elsewhere - sure hope that you loop me in with Jim Robinson because if I get dumped out of this forum, well that means I would no longer have to bear the tarnish and utter shame of being a member of the same forum as you, you complete brainless fool, Lazamataz. Good God, I can’t believe what a total ninny you are Lazamataz
