we do know that certain addresses can contain thousands of votes.
I’m guessing there is an address in her district that probably can contain thousands of email addresses.

“Does she also only accept money from her direct constituents?”

Suspect 99% of the 535 Princes of the Universe take/get money from other than their home district. GREAT idea tho, NO OUTSIDE MONEY !

As to “togetherness” what the ignoble 535 do...AFFECTS THE WHOLE COUNTRY—which is why I strongly resent that BS that they should only listen to “their people”....

Nancy Pelosi (when she was Speaker of the House, running it for the entire nation) had similar policy...

her staff said that she instructed them to NOT respond or reply to any inquiries, requests, letters, or emails from anybody that wasn’t in her little San Fransicko district and had not contributed to her $$$

Well if you are desperate to let her know how you feel, pick an adresss in her district, like a fire station of a town hall.. I have done that before.

Google maps is your friend.

Make up an address in their district.

I did that for SanFran Nan.

However, the replies make it clear that the staffer responding, completely ignores my objections and thanks me for my concern on the subject.

Note to all “holier than thou FReepers:
Pease spare me the ethical objections to the “deception”.

While I could see this providing a basic screen it will also take out members of her own district.

For example: I can use my email account through my router at home and I assume the IP address can be identified as located there.

But I can use that same email on my cell phone in or out of district which will not go through my router. As my number was obtained years ago in another district it also doesn’t have the local area code.

I could also do it from a library several cities away or my work location - which isn’t in my district.

All of these locations will send it to the email server which is not located in my district and therefore 3 of the 4 items noted would not be recognized as “in district” and therefore communications from constituents would be screened out.

... and put address as 189 First Street. every town must have a first street, or main street.

Surprisingly I read somewhere about 10 years ago the most common street name in the US is Second Street. I do genealogy and bumped into this while doing research about towns. The article did not say what had happened to the first street streets.

"The article did not say what had happened to the first street streets."

Probably a lot were renamed as "Main" or "Central" or something else to indicate that primary street in town.

I thought they all have been doing that for years.”

They have which is really a crock IMO. Their on-line form requires that you put in name, address and ZIP code. Easy enough to get around this if you are writing someone who is not your rep or senator by just getting the address for a hotel or a residence in their district and just use that. We do it all the time and have always been successful. Unfortunately doesn’t mean that anyone in their office reads it or conveys the writer’s opinion to the rep or senator.

Talked with one of the members of Pete Olson’s House staff a couple of years ago. Said Pete didn’t want to listen or pay attention to comments from his constituents on an issue, especially when they didn’t agree with how he had already decided to vote. Staffer has since left as he found the experience very frustrating.
