These are the amazing scenes which show a Russian-built fighter jet taking on a US Air Force F-16 in a mock dogfight - in what could be a sign that America is preparing for the possibility of war with Moscow.
The images were captured by air traffic controller Phil Drake in the skies above Area 51 in Nevada, one of the world's most secret military bases, on the day Donald Trump was elected President.
According to Drake, the aircraft in the photographs are a single seater Sukhoi Su-27P and America's veteran F-16.
He was visiting the desert surrounding Area 51 on November 8, the day of the Presidential election. He hoped to see some fast jets involved in a training mission. This is the moment a US Air Force F-16 was photographed involved in a mock dogfight with a Russian SU-27 fighter

And you can tell that is a top quality toupee that the third Stealth’s planes pilot is wearing.
It is meant to get rid of “Buck Fever” of seeing your first MIG (SU) as well as to get a sense of the relative performance of your aircraft vs theirs.
Just posted because it looked interesting as these are supposed to be the only photos of an actual training dogfight - at least the only ones I’ve seen.
And yes I know we train against various Red forces - but how many know we train against actual Russian planes (This is supposed to be one of three secretly purchased SU-27Ps) - plus the other interesting aspect is any engagement is supposed to be with F-15s and F-22sn not F-16s - according to one post here.

I’m wondering what is up with the one plane leaving a contrail and the other not. Of course if one was to fake a photo there must be thousands of others out there with two small images of planes that could be labelled “U.S. and Russia dogfight”.
I’m guessing different exhaust moisture levels between the two planes?
Yep, that’s a Russian jet engine. But the Daily Mail ought to know we’ve been practicing this stuff every day for decades.
