Diet soda contains chemicals found in rust remover

Rust remover, anyone? Or maybe a dash of cement with your meal?

Swapping your “full-fat” Coke for a diet alternative might seem like the sensible, healthy thing to do. But think again.

Last week, experts at Imperial College, London claimed sugar-free drinks won’t help you lose weight or avoid Type-2 diabetes.

In fact, they could stimulate your appetite and make you gain weight.

And worse, some sugar-free soda has ingredients you wouldn’t usually dream of consuming — chemicals found in rust remover, steel cleaner, and cement, albeit in tiny quantities.

They also have ingredients that in high doses have been linked to DNA damage, hyperactivity, and bone fractures.

Dr. Marilyn Glenville, author of “The Natural Alternative To Sugar,” says: “We don’t know the chemical cocktail effect of these ingredients.

“Some negatively affect health. Women and girls who regularly drink these drinks increase their risk of osteoporosis in later life.”

“There is also a lot of research showing artificially sweetened drinks promote weight gain and affect gut bacteria levels.”

its this culture and its worship of skinny..

..normal people, who can be several to more pounds "overweight" deemed by people that never carried an ounce of fat on their bodies are actually quite normal....

we come from German stock, Mexican stock,Italian stock, Polish stock and Russian stock etc....

many people come from generations of people that are "heavy" per today's standards...

we can not all be the same...

we can not all be skinny..

but we all MUST TRY TO BE SKINNY TO FIT INTO SOCIETY....no matter what...

thus we have horrible diet food, diet drinks, sugar substitutes, fat subsitutes, pills and special shakes, etc all so we can fit into some academics notion of what is "normal"...

screw them...

the one word we should follow is simply "moderation"....

I had a really old car for a while. My mechanic used to remove the rust from the calipers by soaking them in soda. Coca Cola, I think.

He never married after Gracie’s death.

Well, I guess the woman I met at the door was his sister or a common law wife. She had the exact tone and bearing of a family member.

Guess we'll never know.

I drank a lot of it when I was on the Adkins diet. If you drink it with a bunch of protein and fat you don’t get hungry from it because you’re full and it satisfies the craving for something sweet. Also diet orange with heavy cream was a nice treat when you’re avoiding carbs. Tastes like a creamsicle.

Nowadays I mostly drink plain water.

You mean like this?

I remember seeing old comedy movies on TV when I was a kid that involved silly scenes in which people were accidentally sprayed with these.

Coca Cola probably works faster than electrolysis.

I ran a test on a 750s gas tank for the first time earlier this year. The process works.
