In the run-up to tonight's Golden Globes, many were wondering just how political the night would become-this being the unofficial beginning of awards season, and the first major awards ceremony to take place since the election. So far, winners have been erring on the side of not addressing the elephant in the room, but Viola Davis made a powerful statement about Donald Trump's America backstage.

Money quote:

I think that America in and of itself has been an affirmation, but we have fallen short. Because there is no way that we can have anyone in office that is not an extension of our own belief system. So what does that say about us?

These Hollyweird types can't help themselves. They are already paving the road for Trump 2020. Just keep this up of insulting American voters and Trump will have both an electoral and popular vote landslide.

Did ships and aircraft quit travelling to Africa from the United States? I imagine she can afford a one-way ticket.

The Deplorables among us have spoken, and however unpleasant it may be for some, the “true voice” is now being heard.

Deplorables have rights too. The many against the few.

Would a ‘powerful statement’ need a magazine or anyone else to amplify it?

I think that Trump should meet with some Bollywood producers or someone that will give these freaks some competition.
The Chicoms and Satanists own and control Hollywood and you can’t get any worse than that.

From Milo; “Trump won because we [the Deplorables] got sick of being lied to and lied about.”

Milo; “Trump won because we [the Deplorables] got sick of being lied to and lied about.”

Candidate Hillary had no compunction about saying on video: "deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”

The disdain Clinton and her team heaped upon believers and the trashing of religion had a huge effect on voters, IMHO.

--------------------------------------

REFERENCE WikiLeaks emails appears to show Hillary Clinton’s campaign communications director Jennifer Palmieri joking with a confidant about Catholics and evangelicals in emails sent to John Podesta, chairman of Clinton’s campaign.

Clinton campaign communications director Jennifer Palmieri, who ran communications for the liberal think tank Center for American Progress that Podesta founded, responded to emails from think tank fellow John Halpin who noted a 2011 report in the New Yorker about News Corp chief executive Rupert Murdoch and Wall Street Journal managing editor Robert Thomson raising their children Catholic.

“Many of the most powerful elements of the conservative movement are all Catholic (many converts) from the [Supreme Court] and think tanks to the media and social groups,” Halpin wrote in the 2011 email, according to WikiLeaks.

“It’s an amazing bastardization of the faith. They must be attracted to the systematic thought and severely backwards gender relations and must be totally unaware of Christian democracy.”

Palmieri responded that she believes Murdoch, Thomson and many other conservatives are Catholic because they think it’s “the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion.” “Their rich friends wouldn’t understand if they became evangelicals,” she wrote. Podesta did not respond in the email thread.

“Hillary Clinton’s campaign communications director Jennifer Palmieri joking with a confidant about Catholics and evangelicals ...”

Wow. When I read those emails, in no way did I think there was any “joking” going on. I took them to be 100% serious in their contempt for Catholics and evangelicals.

“... there is no way that we can have anyone in office that is not an extension of our own belief system. So what does that say about us?”

Huh?

We are not supposed to believe in what we believe? We are not even to be scientists?

The muslim religion experiment is a failure. And social engineering is a failure. We are a Judeo-Christian nation that gets along well with Hindus, Buddhists, and every religion on earth except for one terror cult and fringe anti-religions [such as satanism].

That belief system — the American Melting Pot, with the Good Book being its cauldron — THAT is what made us the most prosperous nation on earth by 1900 — HALF of the world’s GDP.

When progressives led us against that belief system and undermine our priniciples of freedom at the same time: that is when our GDP dominance began to slip.

Bingo. A timely quote because it is timeless.

In contrast to Meryl Streep’s remarks, Ms. Davis’s comments seem broad, even deliberately obscure in moving from the hot button subject of Trump to a truism about the country as imperfect. Moreover, I cannot find any record of campaign contributions or political activism by actress Viola Davis. Perhaps she has some conservative inclinations, or may have a sense of caution about the professional risks for an actor to express harsh political views before a national TV audience. A woman who grew up in abject poverty seems likely to be of such a frame of mind.

Meh, I just sense leftist butt hurt.

Her values are not American mainstream values, so I say “Get on that boat!”

Viola was included in one of the Hillary ads before the election, so she’s a lefty. She’s just not as big of a dolt as Streep.

Absolutely… and in 4 years if you don’t like it… you can go to the voting booth and change it. THAT’S how it works.

Conservatives sat still for an 8 year-long train wreck… no riots, no shootings, no ugly speeches, no demonstrations, no destruction of “OTHER PEOPLES property”, no childish threats, etc….

I have read some comments online from progressive types expressing disappointment that Davis was not as provocative as Streep.

Hillary lands in Saudi Arabia, where women in public are covered up.
She is greeted by Saudi Royals..... in pants and no head covering.

Therein lies the evolution of her thinking.

She forced the Royal House of Saud to accept her in pants.
So she figured she'd change those lousy Catholics and Bible-thumpers.

I missed that, and I must confess a correction as her donations: Viola Davis contributed relatively small amounts to Obama in 2012 and to Kamala Harris in 2015. Still her Emmy comments were relatively mild.

Much to the dismay of Hollywood, we will soon have a man and his administration in office that does reflect the beliefs and values of American patriots and not those of the Muslim third world.

That says a lot about us as patriots that we finally fought back for our country and voted for American interests. Let Hollywood and the UN assume their rightful places in some third world craphole.
