LOL, he was the main reason to watch that show. Interestingly enough, there are quite a few YouTube videos dedicated to Dr. Smith and his insults.

When I was a kid during the original run of Lost in Space, I hated Dr. Smith. But watching it as an adult, he's my favorite.

I read somewhere that most of Dr. Smith's insults were not in the script. Jonathon Harris thought them up the night before the filming.

Wow, that's good to know. I'll enjoy his performance even more the next time I watch.

Most of these lists are idiotic.

This one is not quite that bad, just dumb maybe stupid.

Urkel?

You really should look Urkel up. Urkel was Barack Obama's childhood inspiration. The picture below is Urkel. Or maybe it's Obama.

It's more like a list of sidekicks, or I suppose "characters," not characters, that is, over-the-top caricatures.

I’ve noticed recently they started editing the scene where the Major was talking about N#ggers and Wogs.

I liked Ed when he did the voice in “Up”. But that’s about it.

Continuing, true "greatest" characters would include Matt Dillon and Perry Mason.

I’m guessing the author never heard of MASH.

It ran for 11 years. Not one person from the show on this list. Perhaps they should google it.

Trivia: MASH had a spinoff. What was the title of the spinoff?

There are a lot of character actors, who didn’t play big roles, but i really like, too.
Like Parly Bear as the Mayor of Mayberry. Or, Howard McNear as Floyd the Barber.

Well, at least the first token leftist freak I saw was the “lovely” Jane Hathaway at #39.

Sometimes I’ll play an episode when friends come to visit. No one seems to get it but me.

British comedy is an acquired taste for Americans.IMO one needs to have some understanding of British society and culture to fully appreciate it.I've been something of an Anglophile for many years and,as a result,at least two thirds of the comedies, dramas, etc in my video library have "BBC" or some other British label on them.Fawlty Towers is widely accepted as the finest British comedy series ever made and I'd have trouble arguing with that although Yes,Prime Minister and the first couple of seasons of Ab Fab aren't far behind.
