In my single days, I used to look at the eyes first. Two bags under the left eye, one under the right. The photographer’s light may be causing the squint, but if so, they need a better camera man. The average SEC co-ed could do better than that after a weekend of partying.

You don’t want to touch a guy who’s had hair removal, unless it was just yesterday. My husband thought he was having a heart attack a few months ago (turned out to be a panic attack, as I thought all along), and had his chest and back shaved for cardiac testing. It’s still unpleasantly prickly.
You're totally correct on that "bare look" for gay guys.
At least your hubby's hair will grow back, though he'll be forced to grow through the prickly, itchy phase though the ones who spend the $$$$$, time and pain on waxing are hoping their body hair never grows back!
