Noun, (sof-uh-stree)
1. A subtle, tricky, superficially plausible, but generally fallacious method of reasoning.
2. A false argument; sophism.

Literally, sophistry is a claim of wisdom. Which works as a setup for an ad hominem attack:
- I am wise.
- You are not wise.
- I am right and you are wrong. QED.
A journalist claiming objectivity amounts to the same thing. Usually they only articulate the second statement, “You are not objective, not a journalist.” All else being implied.

The sophomoric sophistry of the news media (under the sobriquet of Lame Stream Media) leads one to surmise the world is succumbing to it’s end. Using stroppy, sensational and unsubtle sentences of silliness, the LSM slanders President-Elect Trump.
Fortunately, many no longer succumb to their senseless sayings , and the media is left salivating at their own soliloquys.
The word of the day, as it is every day, is legs. Spread the word.

Sophistry is a really nice word to learn, but really, today’s word should have been fortnight!

The sophists prided themselves and made there money on winning arguments, not on being right which is why Aristoltle was not a fan of them.
