By any fashionable standard, the little black dress that Melania Trump wore on New Years Eve was quite chic: a $3,000 cocktail dress designed by Dolce & Gabbana with bejeweled bows on the shoulders.
Italian designer Stefano Gabbana thought the incoming first lady looked quite fetching in his dress and said so on Instagram, where he thanked her for wearing it.
He called Trump, a reported longtime fan of the label, a #DGwoman.

But the post infuriated Donald Trump critics and further fueled the ongoing debate in fashion circles about whether designers who dress the future first lady are, in turn, endorsing her husbands politics.
Gabbanas eagerness to see Trump wearing his brand puts him at the far side of one of the fashion industrys biggest divides, notes W magazine....

The family in Trump 1 ?
No, the immediate family will have to fly in only government aircraft and use SS procured wheeled vehicles.
I’m certainly going to complain.
She’d look good in a flour sack and IT’S NOT FAIR. /s
I’ve read the articles. I listened to his interview. He said it was because of his support of Trump. I think the timing looks like the BBB did it because of that.
The guy settled a consumer affairs lawsuit in the past for making false claims about the pillow correcting insomnia.
My point is only that, I expect his sales to go up because of his Trump support. Making that claim is my point. He clearly violated some advertising rules that the BBB zapped him on, that should be easy to correct, but he is going to cash in on being a Trump guy.
If I needed a pillow I’d buy from him.
Wow, some of those I have not seen before, and I wish I hadn’t. I’m no fashion maven, but I can tell that some outfits really shouldn’t be worn outside of a fitting room.
I am different from many here and don’t really care what Michelle’s figure is like. Mine is far from perfect. However, I do think people should try to dress somewhat attractively, especially if they are financially able.
That Michelle thought that some of these were good looking or else was talked into wearing them shows poor judgment.
Such shallow people. I saw also that Ivanka had a picture taken in her home and some artist was complaining because she had one of his paintings.
She would make a flour sack look good.
I have to say I don’t know any Deplorable that would peek inside, much less buy, a Vogue magazine.
Anyhow, Ivanka designs gorgeous clothing. Let her “dress” Melania while the others sit back and watch saying, “That could’ve been my design.”
I remember that too. Didn’t she also get some new China for state dinners? Horrors!
“Not one thread will be bought by the taxpayers.”
I think I heard that much of Nancy Reagan’s wardrobe was borrowed from designers, so taxpayers were spared that expense. Some of the dresses were her own, and they’re on display at the Reagan Library, but I think many were loaned to her.
No questions about where Mooch got the money for all her swag, or if gift regs and tax laws were followed. The enemedia practicing don’t ask, don’t tell when it comes to Dems.
When you say Sears Optical, I think raccoons. I love that commercial.
With liberals, it is “too expensive” or “too cheap”, no matter what a conservative wears. Yet, they wear anything and it is “fabulous!”
Total bigotry on their part: White is awesome if a liberal wears it.
Eight years, if he's re-elected. First ladies appear to be fair game now.
Considering Trump’s mindset and agenda, and remembering JFK ... I think I could make a case for the government to pound sand.
No more boob belts.
Don’t hold your breath. The msm will still ooh and ahh over Moo’s disastrous wardrobe every time she’s seen out shopping at Target and attending fundraisers.
Michelle has what, twenty-six stylists? And this is what we get? I guess you really can’t make chicken salad out of chicken s**t.
Melania could buy her clothes at Walmart and still look beautiful. Because she is beautiful. And graceful as well as intelligent and accomplished.
