I have Trupanion.
[the best of them all]

The rate depends on the age of the dog when first insured.

Mine were insured the day they came home from the breeder, at 6 weeks and 8 weeks, respectively.

We pay about $150 a month for the 90% coverage/no deductible.

Your cost will depend on what percentage coverage and deductible level you choose.
There’s a sliding scale you can fiddle with.

If I chose a $250 deductible, the price would drop by about 1/3.

The key is to insure when the dog is very young.

If I had to insure Odin, for example, at his age now, he’d cost me $125, just for him.

Ironically, Obamacare affected their insurance costs, too.

You’re kidding? obamacare? Figures.

Not to sound cold, but I have a cat and though he’s my best buddy, cats don’t have the makeup of dogs and wouldn’t survive many of the things dogs would.

And these dogs probably cost a lot and maybe some people breed them.

The cat gets 2k cash and after that, it’s time for cat heaven!
