Huge fire ripped through Titanic before it struck iceberg, fresh evidence suggests
The Telegraph ^ | 12/31/16 | Telegraph Reporters

The sinking of the largest ship ever built, the Titanic, may owe as much to a enormous fire onboard as it did to a gigantic iceberg, it has been claimed...

...fresh evidence that the Titanic’s hull may have been crippled by a massive blaze that burned unchecked for almost three weeks immediately behind the spot where it was later pierced.

I have it on good authority that fire cannot weaken steel. /s

How could a massive fire go unnoticed for three weeks or even 3 hours for that matter? While a massive ship, a massive fire would emit incredible amounts of smoke along with incredible amounts of heat. Yet no one noticed?

Besides that, survivors would have said something about that back when they were rescued. At least one would imagine that to be the case.

Seems to me that the Telegraph bought a fake sensational story that, as usual, they didn't fact check at all.

Maybe the fire immediately behind the point of impact was like a magnet that attracted the iceberg? Just a theory (LOL)...

Less than a year after the Titanic sank, the 16th Amendment was ratified, creating a Federal income tax. Coincidence?

I rest my case.

“Nobody has investigated these marks before. It totally changes the narrative. We have metallurgy experts telling us that when you get that level of temperature against steel it makes it brittle, and reduces its strength by up to 75 per cent.

World renowned metallurgist Rosie O'Donnell has proven that fire can't affect steel.

More seriously, I take the testimony by Dilley in post #10 as more true. Was there a fire? Do companies do stupid things to hit deadlines? Likely yes to both. Was it a "huge" or "enormous" fire? I don't now what the standard for coal bunker fires on passenger ships is, so I can't tell if this was a big fire or merely a big headline.

The Federal Reserve conspiracy of the Titanic seems almost entirely based on claims that Benjamin Guggenheim, Isa Strauss, and John jacob Astor opposed the Federal Reserve and/or the income tax. There seems to be no evidence that any of the three actually opposed either.

Those that knew, probably died in the bowels of the engine room. The fire was in the engine room.

Good news Captain, the fire has been put out by the flooding.

It’s an established fact that Titanic had a fire in her coal bunker. It was not uncommon for that to happen on the coal burners, not unique to Titanic.

While this seems laughable, anybody who has experience knows the seriousness of a coal bunker / silo fire and how difficult they are to extinguish. Here's a pick of a coal pipe (about 20 inch diameter) with a (literally) red hot section due to a silo fire. The silo is above the pipe. The pipe discharges into the coal feeder which controls the rate of flow into the pulverizers on the floor below. The story tells of Howe the plant operators handled the fire (rather mishandled).

I highly doubt any sea captain would put to sea with a massive fire on board.

Nor would the company's head honcho come along for the ride.

UFOs sank the Titanic. Everybody knows it.

Were there any Bilderbergers on the Titanic? I thought not. QED.

Leonardo DiCaprio steered the ship into the iceberg so it would sink and not emit any more CO2. True story.
