$445 [Million], in my opinion, is a lot of money. A lot of money. NPR is another very liberal outlet.

The answer is "NO", but the scenario I see playing out will be that the dems will STRONGLY argue for funding NPR, saying that it is educational, (but really because it is nothing more than pure propaganda for them). In the end the weak minded GOP "leaders" in congress will agree to a compromise to get dem votes on supporting something like a Mother's Day resolution and funding will be tacked on as a rider.

The question is, "Should the government STOP funding NPR?" Answering no defeats the purpose. Besides, you have to offer some additional support for your vote or the site will not accept your opinion. I would think it is to avoid freeping the vote.

“there’s a “right” to npr just like there’s a “right” to early termination of pregnancy. Right?”......

I damn sure don’t have to pay for it. If they want to be viable, earn their own money and not use ours.

I would defund them. If they put up a fight then I would say let other networks bid to have their content on NPR. Can you imagine 4 hours of Rush, 4 of Laura, 4 of Hannity on NPR? The libs would demand NPR be defunded.

national propaganda radio should be de-funded immediately. Any ownership rights to their products should continue and the money should go to disabled Veterans.

I was full time person at Scetv that barely made enough to live on and finally got off the plantation.

Certain people did very well in public TV land though. A few of I wasn’t sure of what they did when they bothered to show up.

Is the person you mentioned some kind of talent?

500,000 dollars a year to run a decrepit old broadcasting system that still uses Lawrence Welk specials to bring in donations! Only in bureaucratic America.

Now that we have freerepublic.com and plenty of other open dialogue sites on the internet there is no need anymore for NPR. It should be a crime for them to get any government subsidies. Until the national debt is paid off then the leash on appropriations needs to be extra tight.

Do not fund NPR. No honest news from there. No even handed evaluations, either. DEFUND NPR!

Think about what it takes to gross 500 million dollars a year as a private company. It’s obscene for tax payers to fund an entity such as NPR, that basically is outside of the normal competitive process when it comes to programming.

If they have such a wonderful product, they will not need federal dollars. They can sell advertising, just like everyone else.

If Trump is serious about cutting back on spending and waste this would be a good place to start.

Both PBS and NPR should be defunded. They are supposed to be nonproft corporations, but they actually make money over and above their subsidies. If the libs want them so desperately, let them pay for them.

My previous post was a mistake. Instead my answer is yes, defund NPR.
