When I was in basic training, we were on the tactical range shooting the M16 at pop-up targets from foxhole positions.
They had run out of shell deflectors for us lefties and there was a sudden downpour. Everyone got soaked.
In the middle of my firings, one expended shell shell went right into my BDU top and even below my T-shirt.
There was nothing I could do. I had to keep firing while I heard my skin sizzling.
Fun, travel and adventure!
Happened to my daughter in the police academy during live fire practice. Couldn’t do anything but keep shooting or risk getting shot.
