Mark Levin SHREDS pro-Putin, global warming alarmist Rex Tillerson (Pros, Cons??)
Conservative Review ^ | 12-13-2016 | Chris Pandolfo

Posted on 12/14/2016 7:26:01 AM PST by Freemeorkillme

Tuesday evening on the radio, Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin addressed the announcement that Exxon-Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson is President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of state.

Levin said that the choice of Rex Tillerson ranks among the “worst” of Trump’s Cabinet picks.

Rex Tillerson: Trump’s most disastrous pick – The Conservative Conscience Ep77 Listen:

Tillerson has close ties to members of the ruling class establishment. His nomination was praised by the likes of Condoleezza Rice, Robert Gates, and James Baker — luminaries of the Bush administration and, in the case of Rice and Gates, lobbyists for Exxon-Mobil. Additionally, his close relationship with Vladimir Putin is a major cause for concern.

Fundamentally, Tillerson is the wrong man for the wrong job at the wrong time. As Levin read from Conservative Review Senior Editor Daniel Horowitz’s piece today:

Trump should have appointed a secretary of State who regards the current State Department with as much disdain as Scott Pruitt regards the EPA. The problem we have at the State Department is not a management crisis. We have a moral and intellectual problem with the State Department that has persisted for decades. It stems from a deep-rooted culture of moral relativism and an “America-last” mindset. As such, we needed a man with a strong ideological rudder who understands the issues, is on the right side of them, and willing to bust up the entire State Department structure and the global foreign policy apparatus.

Tillerson got to know many heads of state with his global business dealings

Tillerson was in charge of Exxon in the region of the Caspian Sea. The global significance of this region, due to oil, is hard to overstate. And so is the difficulty of managing and securing Exxon's interests there.

What were you doing 15 yrs ago? Does that employer still control you? Does the one you are working for today control you?

You may want to take a look in the mirror.

This is where they are coming from. They are used to squishy Republicans like Bush (both) who wasn’t sure exactly what he wanted and allowed the cabinet to influence him and do whatever they wanted. That’s when you have to insist every member is completely in line with what the president is supposed to stand for.

“Waste of time. Trump can’t do any wrong here.”

How about instead of screaming just to hear yourself complain, give a suggestion as to whom you think will be a better candidate.

An actual name. Not a vague statement to proclaim that this guy sucks, and you know better.

The neo-con train has already left the station. The trend is back towards nationalism, with implicit agreements (perhaps explicit) towards recognized regions of influence.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Trump arranged a meeting with Putin & Jinping to divvy up the world. We get Cuba, China gets Taiwan and Russia gets Ukraine/Baltics. Together, each country can work towards eradicating their respective client states that lend themselves towards chaos. We'd replace the KSA rulers, China would occupy NK, and Russia would topple the Iranian clerics.

Rather than being exceptional acts, this is actually how the world has always been managed between major powers. Each of the global powers know that wars can no longer be "won". As such, major conflicts are simply bad for business.

The only ones pushing this country towards (regional) war were the arms merchants, banks and other deep state beneficiaries - like the CIA - of perpetual war.

I think we are all going to be a bit amazed at what it will be like to live in more peaceful times once the stuffing is knocked out of pissant Islamic terrorists & contrived regional conflicts like Iraq.

What happened to you? You were one of the biggest Trump supporters on this forum.

I was. But Trump’s foreign policy picks and rapidly developing lightweight kitchen cabinet do not inspire confidence. Apparently, we are getting a package deal with Trump, Jared and Ivanka all moving to DC.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

I’m in the same boat here. Just like Mark Levin, I’m a conservative first. Raise any legitimate questions and it’s off with your head.

I posted this originally for rational discussion pros/cons. There are some good responses, but many are “Mark Levin is a (fill in the blank)”. Tactics of the left. Default to ad hominem attacks.

And, for the record, Mark Levin was never an neverTrumper. He has and always be a NEVERHILLARY.

I just want to hear the man adjudicate himself in a fair hearing.

I’m not interested in his time with the scouts, and Exxon is irrelevant.

I see that Trump is good with him, and now I want to see him demo his chops for the public.

All of this carping is of no use to anything.

Going with a global warming drone who is endorsed by James Baker and Condi Rice makes me sick. SOME appointments have been very good, but this one is terrible.

Yes DO try independent thought.

Don’t just sit at your keyboard posting moronic slogans and infantile drivel because your talk radio god tells you think them.

Here in a nut shell is why the dogmatic Conservatives like you and Levin have been the most politically impotent political movement in history.

We are not going to undo 100 years of creeping socialism by stamping out feet and holding our breath demanding ideologically perfect political allies. Some times you have to go with people who disagree with you position on this or that issue.

If, as Levin demands, you only accept perfectly pure politcal allies, you are going to end up being a pathetic little drone screaming on the radio, not in a position of leadership able to advance your agenda.

Levin, with his daily hysteric whining is an example of how the usual “Movement Conservatives” try desperately to spin a win as a defeat because an ally is not 100% in line with their ivory tower fantasy of ideological political purity.

Apparently Mr Levin feels the only acceptable SOS is Mr Levin. Since he completely agrees with himself only he is poltically pure enough to be SOS.

Pretty sure the US Senate is not going to agree with that assessment. While the mental image is amusing, not sure “get off the phone you big dope” is the sort of response the US’s head diplomat should be giving when Putin or Xi Jinping call.

More evidence of lousy judgment, from a radio entertainer, becoming more out of touch with each passing headline.

“Why is Levin siding with the Leftist clown posse on Tilleson? Might it be Levin is not really interested in fact and reason but just looking for his next thing to mindlessly bitch at Trump about?”

Either Levin doesn’t have a clue what Trump is doing and is so jaded he doesn’t want to know or Levin knows exactly what Trump is trying to do and is dancing around the edges.

This speech? In which he states at 30:44 “I firmly believe it is not too late for Congress to consider a carbon tax as a better policy approach for addressing the risk of climate change”?

Mega corps love competition destroying regulation like the carbon tax because their smaller competitors can’t manage as easily with it.

It’s pretty clear based on his career that Tillerson is an amoral crony globalist. But we’re in the Trump honeymoon period now and I guess loving eyes can never see.

Did this dim wit forget Trump just nominated a global warming skeptic to the head of the EPA? Who gives a hoot what Tillerson believes about global warming?

And, this attempt to restart the Cold War by Trump haters is lunacy.
