They’ve Gone Insane And hating Trump hasn’t made them any nicer either.
The American Spectator ^ | 7 Dec, 2016 | Ben Stein

Posted on 12/08/2016 8:17:37 PM PST by MtnClimber

ust don’t get it. People are going insane about Donald Trump being president-elect. It’s beyond the wildest anger and fear I saw even about Richard Nixon, my hero. And, as I say, I just cannot see it.

For example, this morning, I got several emails from men who had been my friends since high school. “America is going through its worst days ever,” said one letter. “We’re going to lose everything,” said another.

It gets even worse. A dear old friend — a woman who has been my close friend since the mid 1970s, a woman who never even liked Hillary Clinton much — has simply refused to speak to me since election night. Her daughter, the wife of a wealthy real estate developer, sent me hate mail election night, when she learned I had reluctantly voted for Mr. Trump.

Why are people so upset? What has Mr. Trump done that’s so awful? His choices for the Cabinet fall well within the range of the usual types — Wall Street, campaign helpers, ideological bedfellows. Despite what you may have read online, none of them has made horrible statements. None is a Klansman. None is a Nazi. They have different views from those of the ACLU, but that’s what you get in a free country.

The voters voted in a candidate with certain views. That candidate won fair and square. He gets to choose people he agrees with and who agree with him.

It has nothing to do with Trump.

They lost and get no trophy.

I know I should not say this, I’m sure. But I have noticed that’s blacks of a certain sort, have gotten mighty uppity during obamas reign, but they’ve also been magnanimous (as if!)

Not so much with Trumps win.,now they are downright nasty.

Just my observation from the grocery store.

But having the president as the person who was #1 and his VEEP and the #2, was FAR worse! Look at Jefferson and Burr!

Ben Stein was one of the cucks on the MSM news programs last spring, summer and fall insisting “Trump must go!”
Stein and the rest, trying now to rehabiliate themselves?, can all take a number, form a line and KMA.

Two weeks ago the alphabet media along with cnn and PBS posted full election night coverage on YouTube. I rewatched each broadcast right around when FL and OH were called and then at the point that PE Trump hit 244 as well as the end (also watched all the footage of Juan Williams that I could find....excellent meltdown). As it slowly sunk in that Mr Trump would become PE Trump all of the talking heads started calling for the same thing...well you know the Republicans will have to compromise to “get things done”. To that I say FU. Compromise will be doled out in the same rate that obozo saw fit to give us for the last 8 years. ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES.

I don’t think a lot of people on the right understand exactly how devastating this loss is for the left. It’s not just that a Republican won, or even that Trump won, but it’s the way that it happened. Trump violated every rule that they’d established to tilt the playing field in their favor, and yet he still won, which means those rules are no longer operative. They had the GOP backed into a beautiful Catch-22, where they were hopelessly doomed without “the Latino vote”, and the only way to win the Latino vote was to agree to amnesty, thereby paving the way for the minting of millions of new Democrat voters. Well, Trump called ‘em “rapists” and “murderers” and said he was going to build a wall and throw them all over it, and he still won. Hardly even matters if he does it now or not (but he will), the shibboleth has been smashed.

The established a rule that prevented Republicans from speaking freely about almost everything, calling their basic sentiments, “hate speech”, and Trump came along and said whatever he wanted, completely unfiltered, and he still won. Henceforth, Republicans throughout the land will be able to speak freely, without fear.

They thought they could freely pander to every minority group under the sun, secure in the knowledge that they could always count on some degree of support from working class white people by painting Republicans as heartless big business types. Now they’re having to face a reality where there are trade-offs, where they actually have to decide exactly how much power they’re willing to sacrifice in the name of allowing men to use the women’s bathroom, or “the science” of global warming.

Worst of all, they aren’t capable of squarely facing these realities. The campus-based social justice culture that constitutes the majority of the Democrat Party is based on a certain twisted kind of moral absolutism, where every aggrieved group has an absolute right to have their every whim catered to, without question. There will be no “Sistah Souljah moment” by a Democrat anytime soon.

Their only hope right now is that Trump and the Republicans screw things up bad enough to send people back to the Democrats, and they certainly might do that. But the fact is that after eight years of Obama, America has a lot of repressed kinetic energy that Trump is unleashing. We don’t actually have to be on the decline, and Trump is about to show everyone what America is really capable of when it’s unleashed from the shackles of socialism and leftism.

If Trump does nothing other than cancel all of Obama’s illegal executive orders and continues jaw-boning corporate executives to bring jobs back to the Midwest, the GOP will solidify its hold on Congress in 2018, and in four years he’ll win all of the same states more comfortably than before, plus at the very least Minnesota, New Hampshire, and maybe Maine. Illinois, New York, and New Jersey are not out of the question. At that point, the Democrat Party will control California, college campuses and not much else. Then and only then will they probably find a way to wise up and separate themselves from the social justice cult that has taken them over, and that will devastate the left permanently.

In my opinion, the only hope for the left right now are people like Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, and John McCain. If Trump can’t keep a lid on that crew, there could be real problems, and the Dems could be given a new lease on life. But other than that, the left is screwed.

They are still stuck in their matrix pods. Took the blue pills. Best to disengage at this point in time.

You, like a few others on this thread, have NO comprehension of what this article is actually all about.

And as far as whether or not Nixon was or was not a Conservative, back then, NOBODY even talked about such things. And FYI....he was far MORE "conservative" than Ike ever was; yet some here talk about Ike as though he was the be all and end all of Conservatism! LOL

You’re correct in the pundits/talking heads, pols, and those who earn BIG BUCKS by being political consultant hacks; however, that doesn’t explain the mordant idiocies and hysterics, of just plain old “regular people”, who supposedly feel as though they can no longer even breathe.

Correct! The lunatic leftist fringe of globalist has taken over the Democrat Party. It is the party of an elite wealthy class, Hollyweird celebrities, radical Islamist terrorists, BLM racists, and the Communist Party of the US.

Look, he wasn’t my first choice either. But he’s the guy now. Who does it help to scream and fuss and sulk, at this point? He’s here. He’s not queer. He won. You’ll have plenty of other chances to get even.

Poor little snowflakes just can't take losing or being on the receiving end of what they have been shoving down our throat for too many years now. I'm okay with them picking up their marbles and leaving America if they don't like it here. Really okay with it.

America; love it or leave it... or stick around and try to make it better. We did.

I know he was subjected to absolute hatred from the Left, I was involved in politics in those days (I was a volunteer for John Schmitz!)but Richard Nixon was in NO WAY a conservative, regardless of what kind of cloth coat he wore!
