This Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor thing is not going away. Well, at least talk of the hypothetical mega-fight is not going away, but it’s always worth noting when UFC President Dana White opines on it — and doesn’t rule it out.

If it’s in the Octagon, Mayweather will get destroyed. I’d pay to watch it though.

Be careful Floyd, that you don’t write checks your boxing skills can no longer cash. You are 39 y/o, and Conor is 28.
28 is nothing like 18, but it’s closer than you are.
Of course in a fight like that, even the loser will win financially, assuming there isn’t much brain damage.

Yep. MacGregor has direct ancestry to Celtic warriors, it’s been said.

Mayweather isn’t dumb enough to get in the octagon with McGregor.

“For his part, the Irishman appeared to be taking a big step toward making it happen by recently getting a boxing license in California.”

He has a much better chance in a boxing ring. If I had to bet it, I’d bet each of the most in their element.

Well, that would be the biggest [in-the-ring/octagon] fight in recent memory.

It would be a fight worth seeing.

If it’s a boxing match, McGregor has no chance at all. In fact he could get hurt. Mayweather is a truly outstanding boxer, possibly the pound for pound best over the past ten years, and showed no signs of slowing down in his two fights in 2015. McGregor is a good striker (for MMA) but is in no way ready for a boxing match against an opponent the quality of Mayweather.

My prediction? Mayweather will carry him for a several rounds, so he doesn’t lose face by fighting someone so obviously inferior. But when he can’t carry McGregor anymore, Mayweather will end it.

It’s always been put forward as a boxing match. But who would sanction it?

If Mayweather can’t run faster than the notorious Irishman he’ll be in trouble.

28 is better than 18.

They are talking about it being in the ring, not the cage.
