The document starts with “The Pennsylvania election system is a national disgrace.” I wonder if Hillary or Obama are willing to join in and say this as well.

What’s your take on Michigan?

If these nonsensical demands are going to set a precedent, no election would ever be resolved when minor candidates file for expensive recounts.

Stein is guilty of fraud.

"I’m a lawyer. This is a joke....and will go nowhere"

I am too, and my career is spent litigating in Federal Courts. Although I personally know attorneys who were sanctioned for filing pleadings with unfounded allegations as in this complaint, I also think that it is not impossible that somewhere there might be a federal judge inclined to take it seriously. However, I do find it impossible to believe that any Circuit Court of Appeal would not immediately reverse that ruling.

It’s ironic, isn’t it, that Stein wants to assure the integrity of the electoral system by initiating senseless lawsuits that do exactly the opposite. Bizarre!

Keep in mind that in MI, the Federal judge did not rule that the recount should go forward. He only ruled that counting needs to begin earlier than Wednesday in the event that that the MI AG's case is dismissed.

In other words, the counting is provisional and could be mooted if the MI courts grant the AG's pleading.

"If these nonsensical demands are going to set a precedent, no election would ever be resolved when minor candidates file for expensive recounts."

It would seem to me that the easiest thing for these states to do, after the dust has settled from this election, would be to change their election laws regarding recounts --- say, something to the effect of, "Automatic recount for a difference of 1% or less between the top two candidates; that the second-place candidate eligible to request a recount if _________ dollars is deposited in escrow, to be forfeited if the recount does not change the results of the contest; and that any candidate on the ballot is eligible to request a recount if fraud is alleged and if __________ dollars is deposited in escrow, to be forfeited if the fraud is not proven and the results of the recount does not change the results of the contest."

Then use some sort of formula to determine the amount of money that has to be deposited: say, $500/eligible voter on the election rolls in the first instance and triple that amount in the second instance.

Or something along those lines. Joe Schmoe, the local dogcatcher running for President, who receives two votes, should not be able to request a recount unless he wants to put up (and probably lose) a ton of money to allege fraud.

It starts off like an internet rant and is off the rails by #17 as she/they start listing their what-ifs as “Factual Allegations”.

I’m making a note to myself to start looking for the next generation of crying-Democrat videos by Wednesday afternoon.

Trump should immediately ask for a recount in CA, maybe a few other states, to make sure Hillary got a fair count.

I’m not a lawyer and I could have written a better filing than this. It reads like it was cut-and-pasted from rants at DU.

State legislatures never dreamed they would be forced to address this issue since the cost of a recount was prohibitive to candidates and the public embarrassment of looking like a ridiculous major fool.

Now we have rats funding the biggest losers for a multitude of nefarious reasons. They are in effect, destroying and making a mockery out of the election process.

The irony of ironies about this whole “recount” fiasco is that Hillary Clinton lost in all three states by almost the exact vote count that Jill Stein received in each. Talk about Karma coming back to bite you!

I once asked an 80 year old lawyer about the law - wanted to know if XXX violated the law and if I’d have a solid case in court. He told me the only way to find out was to go to court and see how the judge ruled because ‘the law was whatever a judge said it was on a given day’.

Cynical, but 20 years later have passed and I’ve seen no sign he was wrong.

Did you read Judge Goldsmith’s ruling? It says “At that time, the recount shall commence and must continue until further order of this court”. Time referenced was Noon, Dec 5th. He also directed the state to assemble necessary staff and work sufficient hours to meet the safe harbor provision.

His order is embedded in the article in the link below.

The law is already written clearly. Stein doesn’t like it, and she’s trying to find a judge who will ignore the law and rule based on his/her feelings.
