For four days, city parking officers slapped tickets on an SUV parked three blocks from the Broward County Courthouse. When Carolyn White noticed the pile of citations, she wondered what was going on. She stepped closer to the car to peek inside.
"Oh my God, please tell me this man is not dead," White thought.
Inside the Isuzu Axiom was the body of Jacob Morpeau, 62, of Miami. He was sitting in the driver's seat, and his upper body lay face down over the SUV's center console. His hand held a credit card, White said.
The Broward County Medical Examiner's office later said Morpeau had died from natural causes and had been ill with hypertensive cardiovascular disease. What's not known is how long Morpeau's body had been inside the Isuzu.
The medical examiner could not pinpoint the date of death.
The SUV was issued tickets from Nov. 12 through Nov. 15, the day Morpeau's body was found. Whether he was inside the Isuzu when the tickets were put on the windshield is also not known.

A new Democrat voter!
Floriduh!
Hey, it wasn’t the Parking Enforcement cops’ job to report a dead man. If the dead man couldn’t put more money in the meter, they’re going to give him another ticket.
The Parking Authority will probably sue his estate to recover the fines.
This is Broward County. He’s ALWAYS been a Democrat voter.............and will remain so indefinitely................
Blackened windshield and front windows???
Illegal in most states but rarely enforced
I think the dark window tint law was loosened here a while back.
‘Hes ALWAYS been a Democrat voter.............and will remain so indefinitely.............’
I think you mean in perpetuity.
....and a long time after that!...............
I lived in Margate in 77-80. Got too crowded for my likes and left when I got married........
Next of kin has a heap of parking fines to pay....
As the unions say: “don’t kill the job; or in this case....kill it.
Here in NY we use those foil dash board covers and leave the windows cracked a half inch
This comes as no surprise to me. The guy was probably there for hours on end trying to get it to move.
I owned one of those pieces of garbage and when I sold it at 128,000 it was on the 4th transmission. The first one went at 212 miles, two days after I got it.
Surely there is a story and a song to be written about this.
......not my job........
I just hate it when that happens.
