Pastor says car salesman swiped wife's nude photos from his iPhone, sent them to swingers' site

A year ago, Tim and Claire Gautreaux walked into a car dealership in Grapevine to buy a new Prius. They say the car-buying process was what you'd expect: long and tedious.

But what happened behind the scenes is now the focus of a lawsuit against the dealership and a former sales director, who also faces criminal charges.

Police believe Matthew Luke Thomas, the car sales director, found nude photos of Claire Gautreaux on her husband's phone and forwarded them to an email address for a swingers' website.

Thomas, 44, is charged in Tarrant County with computer security breach, a class B misdemeanor. This week, the Gautreauxs filed suit against Thomas, Texas Toyota of Grapevine and Toyota Motor North America in a Dallas County court, alleging breach of contract, intrusion, negligence and public disclosure of private facts.

Tim Gautreaux, 29, is a pastor at Hope Fellowship in Frisco. His wife works in retail management. The couple went to Texas Toyota in January 2015.

Later, he learned that photos of his wife getting in and out of their bathtub — from what he described as a "private moment" — had been sent to an email address that appeared to be linked to a swingers' website and a Garland couple, the lawsuit says.

One, taking nudes of yourself or significant other is a risk. Sure, different strokes for different folks but...know there is a risk once that photo is snapped. Personally, I have none of me or my wife, and we've never taken any.

Two, storing any important information on your phone is a risk. Sure, it is terribly convenient to have credit card, bank, other info on there. But your phone is your device that is most likely to get hacked, most likely to get stolen/misplaced. It is the worst place to keep important/sensitive information.

Three, never lend your phone to an un-trusted person. Never let your phone out of your sight in someone else's possession while unlocked. It takes just a few seconds to install malware on any device. That stranger with the broken-down car that just needs to call a friend? Make the call for him/her. The finance guy that just needs to see xyz? Show it to him/her while you hold the phone.

This begs the question of why is a pastor’s wife taking nude selfies of herself anyway. I guess its a church trying to keep up with the times . . . .

SMDH.

A few months ago, one of my nephews snapped a picture of my grandson in a restaurant urinal. He was still at the stage of pulling his underwear down before urinating.

Although most of my in-laws thought it was cute or harmless, I lit into him as it could be construed as child pornography.

We live in a different world today.

I don’t care what world we live in, but snapping photos of anyone in a restroom is out of line.

What idiot would put financial records on a smart-phone? This whole story sounds fake. Why would a pastor walk around with his wife’s nude shots on his phone?

There is only one reason to have them on a portable device. To share them with other people.

Anyone else see the pic of the “victims” with Gloria Allred? This is a shakedown, nothing more.

That’s the big question why did she do it, why did he allow it and why did he keep them on the phone.

Stupid is as stupid does

Gee, if you are going to keep stuff like that on your phone, you might want to at least put some security on the thing.

Bingo!

Reminds me of a line from a song about old girlfriends,

“..some of them still have a place my mind likes to go..”

Regardless, that church is going to get a lot of free advertising from this story.
