Ideas are scary, and messy, and fragile.

Some ideas, however, are just cr@p. And don’t bring good things to light :-)

The primary duty of a warship is to stay afloat. If there is water entering into spaces where there is not supposed to be any in the absence of some incident, this duty has been failed.

It has no ammo for its guns — so it has lost it’s primary mission...

The navy is spending $2 billion for 200,000 rounds of the GPS-guided, rocket-powered projectiles, but it can also fire other kinds of rounds.

...and now it has broken down and needs a tow.

It's also first in its class and has teething pains. They will be worked out over time.

Make that 2,000 rounds of rocket-powers ammunition. A bit early for math.

Man, that’s an ugly ship. Named for a Democrat, too.

At least they didn't call it "Elmo".

Maybe they weren't tickled with it...

The Democrats controlled Congress when it was funded. Now that the GOP controls things you will see more ships named for Republicans.

Very poor sentence, bearings do NOT “connect” electrical motors to drive shafts.

Cut them some slack. At least they used "intrusion" correctly.

I still cannot picture that hull in seas over 10ft!! All I can picture is it snuffing its nose on each dip!! I think this ship was for show only.

For this kind of money, they’re going to make it work if it does or not.

This is a radical design and needs to be near home port.

Home port is San Diego. It has to get there first.

The Navy called USS Zumwalt a warship Batman would drive.
BIG FUBAR like the F-35.

But at $800,000 per round, its ammo is too pricey to fire. TOTALLY loaded ammo is $2Billion

The ship is on it’s way to San Diego for all that testing. Maybe it should have stayed on the east coast until all this was worked out.

This monstrosity will never be a functional Ship as long as it can’t afford ammo or stay afloat. OVER PRICED FUBAR!

Hubby spent 20 yrs in the Navy, and does not have a high opinion of it. His main words are worthless FUBAR when you mention it or the F-35!

These aren’t teething problems, this points to some major design issues. I think it’s a good concept, but it’s obvious it’s not ready for service. They are pushing to get it into service too quickly.
