My ex thinks Elvis is still alive. She says his middle name on the tombstone is misspelled, his Lloyds of London insurance policy still has not been cashed in, and a case with his favorite sunglasses is missing.

My brother as an intern for Geraldino Ferraro, around 1982, back when she was just a congresswoman. He worked in constituent services, which mostly involved sending boilerplate letters in response to constituent letters. Occasionally there was some scope for originality. He actually got to draft an original letter. To wit:
Dear Mrs. Bultacho, Elvis Presley was a great American and made many valuable contributions to American music and entertainment. I will give HR-82-205, making his birthday a national holiday, the serious and thorough attention it deserves.
Sincerely,
Geraldino F. Ferraro
Congresswoman, New York 5th Congressional District

I live 10 miles from Graceand. Never been inside Funny...I had lived within about 15 miles of the Bunker Hill Monument for about 30 years before I happened to bump into it when I was lost.I've lived within about 15 miles of Old Ironsides my entire life and only saw it for the first time about 5 years ago (hint: I had a draft card).

Elvis gave a concert which raised a lot of money to help build the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

My favorite was “Kid Galahad”.

I grew up having a negative view of him as a person because of his celebrity life and addiction etc
I didn’t really appreciate his music or know much about him until a road trip in ‘97 took me thru TN and I went to Graceland.
I don’t know what compelled me to stop at Graceland, but it was really good to get much more knowledge of his generosity and kindness to so many people. I became a fan then :)

There are some decent, useful, even fun vanities, but there have been way to many junk ones like this lately. I also agree with JR

Why did you let Lisa Marie knock on your door while you were taking heavy downers? I know Elvis’ faults.

“Talk about The King”?
I’m confused. I though you said you wanted to talk about Elvis, not Jolson?
To: LostInBayport
I would say the Memphis Record is his best.
