National American Beer Day is observed annually by beer drinkers across the nation on October 27.

There are more than 2,100 breweries that manufacture beer in the United States. They range in size from industry giants to brew pubs and microbreweries. •The U.S. produced 196 million barrels of beer in 2009. •The U.S. consumes roughly 20 US gallons of beer per capita annually.

•In 2008, the United States was ranked sixteenth in the world in per capita consumption, while total consumption was second only to China.

•Prohibition in the early twentieth century caused nearly all American breweries to close.

•After prohibition was repealed the industry had consolidated into a small number of large-scale breweries.

•The majority of the new breweries in the U.S. are small breweries and brewpubs, who, as members of the Brewers Association, are termed “craft breweries” to differentiate them from the larger and older breweries.

•The most common style of beer produced by the big breweries is American lager.

•Most of the smaller breweries, which were founded in the 1980s, produce a range of styles.

•Beer styles originating in the United States include: American pale ale, Pennsylvania porter, American IPA, steam beer, amber ale, cream ale and Cascadian dark ale.

I sat in the Green Dragon Tavern in Boston where the founders sat and made those plans. Drinking the same beer... Sam Adams.

It wouldn’t even surprise me that Paul revere was drunk when he made that ride LOL. The entire History of Beer is on Youtube What blew my mind is that back during those times, doctors would recommend beer as medicine. XD

I have heard a story that the very first place he stopped on the way out was to grab a rum for the road. Something more medicinal.

I drink a lot of Busch because life is too long for good beer all the time. It tastes and good. Bud tastes like crap now, not that it ever tasted good.

I would like to propose November 8th as ‘National Punch a Leftist Imbecile in His Mouth Day’ and I am counting on your support...

Thank you for posting! Excellent! I didn't watch the Colt 45; but I really enjoyed the others. If I remember correctly, Rheingold was the 'official beer' of the NY Mets back in the day - My Beer is Rheingold, the dry beer, think of Rheingold whenever you buy beer

The games would play on the radio in the back yard while my uncles played pinochle on the card table and drank Schaefer.

The good old days.
