Like most carpenters I know, it would be an old pickup full of tools and lumber.

That is almost exactly what I was going to post... Carpenters usually drive an old pickup truck.

This is a great thread!

Species8472: Like most carpenters I know, it would be an old pickup full of tools and lumber.

GregoTX: That is almost exactly what I was going to post... Carpenters usually drive an old pickup truck.

stormer: He was a carpenter, after all.

editor-surveyor:

>> “He was a carpenter, after all.” <<

Carpenter was a gross mistranslation.

Joseph was a stone mason, as all builders in Judea were.

The unwashed masses envision an old pickup truck filled with guy tools and building materials. After all, he was sent to fix stuff.

The one with language knowledge has got it chiseled down to his having a masonry profession, same as all builders in Judea, but no mention of the vehicle type. And anyway, according to post 23, he was about his father's business, so he wouldn't have been involved in earthly events. Hmmm.

Now about all this talk of carpentry, woodworking, and words and their meanings. Ezekiel covered that in chapter 37. Recall that he was instructed to put two sticks together that would become one in his hand. Sticks-trees-wood, all the same Hebrew word (etz), which is formed out of the letters ayin and a final Tzaddik. That is, these are the two letters that look like forked tree branches - sticks. Letters form words. Ezekiel put the two letters (sticks) together in his hand when he wrote down the word etz עץ , forming the one tree in his hand. Two branches were made into one tree, a family tree. Well yeah, that's also right there in the plain text.

Man, the work that the Messiah will need to do, just to restore everything back to simple order. Good thing the guy doesn't mind putting in long hours!
