There are also a couple of land masses that, from the air, look similar. Except if you think you are over one, but are really over the other one, you will fly out to the middle of the Atlantic until you run out of fuel.

I spent years as a CG aviator in the “Triangle”.
Not a rocket scientist by any stretch.

I always felt that because of, wicked water spouts, rouge waves wind shears and all kinds of other weird WX stuff,
those aviators B4 radar were screwed.
I spent many hours at a radar position dodging all that stuff, too bad so many early aviators did not have that luxury

I thought the Bermuda Triangle myth was debunked years ago.
Someone marked all known lost and missing ships and air crafts on a map* and the BT area was not special in any way.

* As much as you can mark missing things on a map anyway.

I always thought that the all those lost ships and planes had simply pissed off the ancient pagan God Isosceles.

When I was on the USS JFK, we had a A-6 Intruder that disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle without a trace.

Just took off and never came back. No radio transmission, wreckage, flotsam, slick, nothing.

Two men and a plane just disappeared without a trace. I believe that was back in 1978.

Thirty five years ago National Enquirer or STAR did an in depth report by Charles Berlitz, on the Bermuda Triangle and listed all the ships and planes lost there.

So I got a map, drew the triangle as they described it, and pinpointed each disappearance. Most were OUTSIDE the triangle. Some were people boating and flying during hurricanes.

What got me was Berlitz said that the disappearance of Louisiana coach Jerry Stovall and Bo Rein was caused by their airplane being pulled off course FROM LOUISIANA by the magnetic pull of the BERMUDA TRIANGLE!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Stovall

I’ve never taken the Bermuda Triangle seriously since. It is hokum.

What they are describing sounds more “weather control” conspiracy stud than nature.

I’ve noticed a similar, paranormal phenomenon on land, that I call the “Trapezoid of Terror.”, roughly bounded by Washington D.C., Boston MA, Cleveland OH, and Cincinnati OH.

You will find far more many car accidents in this region than in say, between Sioux City Iowa, Fargo Minnesota, Billings Montana, and Casper Wyoming.

Oddly enough, you will also find more homosexual activity in that region which is why it’s also called, in some circles, “The Queers Quadrangle.”

Read “The Bermuda Triangle Mystery: Solved” by Larry Kursche.

He is/was a Librarian and actually went back and looked at newspaper articles, and, other eye witness reports, from the time of the more famous incidents. Almost all were shown to have disappeared during bad weather, at least one, during a Hurricane.

NOVA did an episode on the Triangle and got at least one of the authors, Richard Winer, to admit he lied to make the stories better. Kursche was was involved with the episode.
