Donald Trump will claim Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim was part of a cabal dredging up allegations the Republican nominee touched women inappropriately, The Wall Street Journal reported.
According to the report, which cited an unnamed Trump adviser, Trump planned to claim that Slim, a New York Times shareholder and Clinton Foundation donor, was trying to boost Hillary Clinton's campaign by damaging Trumps' campaign.

Yeah they will take anything out of context to twist, but sorry, I believe the majority don’t think the media is telling the truth these days. The pollsters are baldly skewing polls who work for the same lying media, and their lying has been documented countless times for well over a year.
Slim was born on January 28, 1940, in Mexico City, Mexico, to Maronite Catholic parents, Julián Slim Haddad and Linda Helú Atta, both of Lebanese descent. His father, born Khalil Salim Haddad Aglamaz, emigrated to Mexico from Lebanon (then part of Syria in the Ottoman Empire) at the age of 14 in 1902 and changed his name to Julián Slim Haddad.
His Lebanese descent is of little importance, other than his father provided his early education in finance and business. Carloss is a graduate civil engineer and has a background in mathmetics, he is no dummy.
But he is Mexican born and in every way a Mexican.

Carlos Slim, a Mexican multi-billionaire, ranking between #1 to #7 in wealth in the world since 2010, rescued the NYT in 2009 (a $250 million dollar loan) when it was losing employees, ads and subscribers rapidly. With his right to invest activated, his now 16% of the family-owned company, the NYT does not have to worry about subscribers any more.
Jeff Bezos owns the WaPo and Warren Buffet has invested in several newspapers. Our chance with Trump is probably a one-time thing before our country is completely controlled by a few oligarchs, as is Mexico.

Trump shouldn't make this kind of accusation without iron-clad proof. And, he wouldn't telegraph it like this -- he would just lower the boom on Slim.

Leave Carlos Slim alone and attack Hillary. Then attack Hillary some more, and then again and keep on attacking Hillary until election day. Stop with the distractions.
Carlos Slim bailed the NYT times out when they were in financial crisis. They already agree with him on most things. It’s just that the NYT doesn’t have to worry about pleasing anyone but their politically favored which they may have had to if there hadn’t been a rescue by Slim.
I agree with that. I just didn’t see him in a role where he could order things at will.

When you own a controlling interest in a company, you have the power to install who you want on the Board. Slim can put people that carry his views and will on the BOD and the company will click their heels in response.

There are options they can exercise that can give them much more in a flash.
When a company is going down the tubes, a cash injection is needed to stop bankruptcy. An investor can step up but only on condition they have complete control at a minimum stake. Other stakeholders agree because otherwise their investment goes to zero.
Slim injected cash to get a megaphone that his people can use according to his will.
