No....I think this is a “wise” idea. Dump the campus cops with limited authority and go to the local sheriff or city cops. Just give the students a dose of regular law enforcement and in six months....they will be begging for a campus cop force. If you used standard law to enforce rapes and assaults....there would be dozens of kids carted off to some county jail every weekend. So, I’m all for a dose of reality.

If I were the college administrator, I’d say, “Okay, starting next week, all campus security will be on furlough until further notice. Have a nice day.”
