The ones around my place can fly up into trees. I would think that they could at least glide to the ground. 500 feet is not that high - for a wild turkey anyway.

A bunch of years ago a friend climbed up into his deer hunting tree stand before day break not realizing there were a number of turkeys roosting in a tree near by. As the sun starting rising they took off flying, almost scaring my friend out of the stand with their sudden noise..........LOL!

Ya got trees at 500 ft with an air speed of 80 MPH Plus.

Show me aTurk that can handle that....”Flying” for Turks puts them in the trees for night time survival, thats it.
Turks don’t build nests in trees, they lay their eggs on the ground.
Turks do as much airborne shit as a chicken.
