Watch this Komodo dragon on a mission as it hunts down a squirrel that seems to be tormenting it from the safety of a tall bush, or so it thought.
Komodo dragons are the largest living species of lizard on the planet. Dont let that fool you, though, theyre surprisingly quick and have a terrifying drive for prey. Just watch to see what this one does to catch a squirrel!
The ginormous lizard shocks everyone when it scales up the bush and snags the squirrel with its powerful jaws. The children watching all of this unfold at the San Diego Zoo get a front-row seat to see Mother Nature at her finest.

And Now This poor Squirrel,,,,
Cheese o Man!
Looks more like a monitor lizard but I’ll take their word for it though I have my doubts.
I had my Monitor Lizard set to 1024 X 768, but then it’s broke.
Squirrel’s may look cute, but they do so much damage to property by chewing everything up.
I think the Komodo has some chemical in it’s saliva that acts to paralyze their prey. Notice how he first established a firm grip on the squirrel then just stood still for a short while. The squirrel suddenly goes limp and stops wriggling.
Or maybe the squirrel’s little neck was broken and spinal cord severed.
The Komodo Dragon is a type of Monitor lizard.
Those things scare the crap out of me when I play Far Cry 3 and 4.

It is a type of monitor lizard . The one that occurs on the Island of Komodo and Flores.
Komodo salivary glands contain toxins which are anti-coagulant and lower a prey animals blood pressure. Bite pressure on small prey may collapse lungs; and, shut down the hearts pumping blood.
I don't care what it is if it eats squirrels.
Good one!
The local park - Sepulvada Dam (CA) 101/405 fwy, had to bring in poison for the squirrels as they dug up hundreds of yards of grass and leaving many many holes where they burrow. It is pretty much dirt now until the squirrels are eradicated and the rain comes to help grow back the grass.
The park service have placed plastic boxes with 2 entrances that the squirrels use to get the food/poison.
Maybe a few monitor lizards on a leash would help too.... : )
