Joe Madden is going to work his magic against the Giants- he was on the bench next to Scioscia in 2002 and you all remember that one...

Re: 80 - LOL!

I think it’s the year of the Young Bear. Sort of like ‘84 being the year of the Tigers - they got off to a great start and never looked back.

I’m looking forward to a good series. The Giants are usually exciting especially in the playoffs, and the world may come to an end if the Cubbies win, so a lot of excitement.

Well now you see why I wasn’t optimistic about the Rangers, took only three innings for this series to essentially be over.

Boring.

I wish you could see my stat roll up which I hope at some point to get up on my website https://sonsofconstitutionalliberty.com/.

The Rangers are ranked 21st in defense (essentially pitching and fielding) and are statistically the weakest of all the playoff teams.

This year, the playoff teams in the NL look stronger than the AL teams.

Only chance the Rangers had was for Hamels and Darvish to win their games, because the rest of their staff is garbage.

And the Rangers lose a heartbreaker, 10-1.

Are you watching this? Why does Boston bring in a 4.59 ERA reliever. Don’t they have any better middle relievers? Immediately Cleveland scores another run.

Well maybe the Giants aren’t the only ones with bullpen troubles. Boston just replaced the 4.59 reliever with a 5.18 ERA reliever.

Dude, Cole Hamels laid an egg.

I’m going with Cubs, Nats.

And Red Sox, Jays. Tempted to to switch to Cleveland but I would have said Boston before this game and am sticking with it.

“somehow the Giants have the magic”

During the Mets v Giants game the announcer pointed out Bochy and the Giants are 10 out of 10 in playoff series.

Anyone betting against that is dumb.

Well, as someone else said, it’s like betting in the stock market, “Past performance is not necessarily and indicator of future results.” The Giants are a different team than they were two years ago and their once vaunted bullpen which had good middle and closing relief, is a shell of its former self.

Nevertheless, I say Go Giants and hope the magic constinues.

Boston over Cleveland

Game 1 was a nail-biter. Tito used long stints from his top relievers (Andrew Miller and Cody Allen, 40 pitches each) to win it for the Indians.

So I figured, Indians starter Corey Kluber better go deep in game two. And he did! Seven shutout innings.

Looking good for the Tribe.

At least now the Rangers know what to do with Darvish, trade him and get something for him, and let the Yankees overpay for him.

Boston did the same thing a few years ago in the playoffs. Like this year, they came in as the heavy hitters but their bats fell silent. I like the Tribe. They may this year’s Cinderella team. This may be Cleveland’s year in sports!

And then, there are the Browns.

Well, two out of three isn’t too shabby. The Tribe has a long way to go yet but they look hungry and good .

Dang, I was getting ready to settle in to watch the Giants & Cubs only to find out it’s on the MLB Network station which I don’t get. Guess I’ll listen on my computer on MLB.com but its not a fun as watching on the tube.

I feel like the Giants are at a great disadvantage in the pitching match-up and almost certainly will have to go to our game-losing bullpen. Oh well, the one bright spot for the Giants I see is Bumgarner tomorrow night.
