North Shore or South Shore?

Maybe it's all over Long Island...I know it too.

Exactly. When listening closely, you’ll hear that second hard-G sound.

Of course bigly is a word...an adverb to be exact.

Just like hugely, largely, enormously, overwhelmingly...

"A presidential debate is pretty formal and I’d think you’d want to use language that is widely understood by most of the people listening to you. But Trump doesn’t seem to do that."

Here in lies the problem. The people who are voting for Trump and more likely true for the vast majority of middle class and underclass are not "formal" and understand what he meant no matter how he phrased it and don't really care about the upper crust formality of a "debate". It works for the President when he goes "ghetto" even though it's a painfully obvious act. But he gets away with it because of the MSM's (ahem) "racial sensitivity" (read: white guilt).

With Trump, it resonates with the blue collar crowd because it's real. He ain't selling sumting he ain't got.

What does not work is Hillary breaking out the Arkansas via Chicago accent and being "ain't no ways tarred" and "comin' tooooo faaaaarrrrr."

Trump always says, “big league”; people just have to listen carefully. How petty can they be, really?

One of the stranger moments in Monday night’s presidential debate came when Donald Trump looked Hillary Clinton in the eye to make an important point about taxation. “I’m going to cut taxes bigly. And you’re going to raise taxes bigly.”

It's not an intelligent move to criticize someone because you didn't listen to them. Trump did not say "bigly", he said big league. This writer is an idiot.

Over 94 million Americans out of work or under employed, 20 trillion in debt, terrorists murdering people in the US, BLM destroying cities and idiots are worrying about Trump’s choice of words?! Insanity!

Those who tried to make hay of it should have done a 3 second search first - from dictionary.com: Bigly definition, large, as in size, height, width, or amount: a big house; a big quantity

Actually, I have heard Trump say both “Bigly” and “Big League” on more than one occasion. Initially, I thought “bigly” was not a real word but having watched several of his rallies I have been accustomed to hearing to hearing him use both words.

We’re never too old to learn.

In those two specific cases cited, he definitely said big league. I’ve never heard bigly from him, i’ll have to look again.

That's up there with people who don't know whether to "majorly" or "major league" as a modifier.

I used M.L. once, in jest, saying I got M.L.P.O'ed at work, just because I wanted to see who would ask why I was upset vs what ML meant.

Oddly, one of the most concerned was my supervisor -- word got back to her about my post. Nothing bigly happened.

I got a chuckle from his using bigly; it was an attention-getter.
