House Speaker Paul Ryan says the police-involved shootings in Charlotte and Tulsa, and the resulting violence in Charlotte, were heartbreaking.
And this country has to find new ways of learning how to heal and understand all the different perspectives, Ryan told CBSs Face the Nation.
Each of us have to get better perspectives, get outside of our comfort zones, understand what other people are thinking and saying and what they see, and then try and come up with common-ground solutions. And thats, to me, the kind of healing that has to occur. And youre not going to have that done in the fourth quarter of a presidential election. This is campaign season.

police-involved shootings in Charlotte and Tulsa ... learning how to ... understand all the different perspectives
Precisely what “different perspectives” did the Black police officers involved in the shootings not understand?
“Each of us have to get better perspectives...”
I don’t think so. There is truth, and there is falsehood. If some peoples’ “perspective” doesn’t agree with the truth, then we don’t need their perspective.
They are thinking and saying "GIBSMEDAT!!!!"
They are seeing an opportunity to get more free stuff.
They will find common ground with me when they forswear rioting, looting, burning, murdering and stealing.
Ryan lives in the beltway or whitelandia homogeneous Wisconsin county....2% black
He doesn’t know shite from shinola about race
Plus he’s drunk on good deeds trumps real life
When will Ryan just switch to being a Dem for God’s sake? They are the ones who make policy from feelings instead of facts and logic.
Franklin Roosevelts rapid conversion from Constitutionalism to the doctrine of unlimited government is an oft-told story. But I am here concerned not so much by the abandonment of states rights by the national Democratic Party an event that occurred some years ago when that party was captured by the socialist ideologues in and about the labor movement as by the unmistakable tendency of the Republican Party to adopt the same course. [ ] Thus, the cornerstone of the Republic, our chief bulwark against the encroachment (on) individual freedom by Big Government, is fast disappearing under the piling sands of absolutism. No need to bother switching parties, since liberalism and authoritarianism is a long-standing GOP tradition since the postwar period.
The Republican Party, to be sure, gives lip service to states rights. We often talk about returning to the states their rightful powers; the Administration has even gone so far as to sponsor a federal-state conference on the problem. But deeds are what count, and I regret to say that in actual practice, the Republican Party, like the Democratic Party, summons the coercive power of the federal government whenever national leaders conclude that the states are not performing satisfactorily.

Common-ground solutions:
1. Quit arguing/fighting with lawfully acting police.
2. Quit getting high or drunk and arguing/fighting with
lawfully acting police.
3. Quit breaking the law, which tends to cause the police
to show up at your door or stop your car.
4. Quit taunting the police with guns, knives and other
weapons.
Ryans political prowess has come in part from being his partys 2012 vice presidential nominee, introducing him to a vast array of wealthy conservative donors with strong ties to Mitt Romney and the Bush family. In addition, hes benefited from many of those big donors abstaining from financially supporting Trump this year and instead focusing on protecting the House as well as the Senate majority.
Oh, I understand it fine, thanks, Paul. That's why I just ordered another 1000 rounds of 5.56.
