Clinton Has 7-Point Lead Over Trump In National McClatchy-Marist Poll (I call BS)
TPM Poll Tracker ^ | 9/23/2016 | Caitlan MacNeal

Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by seven points among likely voters in a head-to-head matchup, according to a new McClatchy-Marist poll released Friday morning.

When third party candidates are added to the question, Clinton leads Trump by six points, 45-39, among likely voters, with Libertarian Gary Johnson at 10 points and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at four points.

The last national McClatchy-Marist poll released in early August did not survey likely voters and instead polled a broader pool of registered voters. In that poll, Clinton led Trump among registered voters by 15 points, 48-33.

Thank you fro providing stats on sample. So let's see....

They have Democrats +5 vs Republicans
Within Democrats, 72% are strong Democrats
But within Republicans only 62% are strong Republican
Within Independents they have +1 Democrat leaners vs Republican leaners

So if more Democrats show up to vote. And the Democrats who show up to vote are more strongly committed to their party, and there leanings of the independents slightly favor Democrats....then Hillary is likely to win.

I think this is a very serious problem for Donald Trump supporters in whatever parallel universe that this turn out model makes sense in.

I see. Good clarification

I’m not big into “don’t believe the polls”

But the 12 point difference b/w this one and Rasmussen is a bit much to stomach.....

This poll, over the past few months, has never shown Trump with a lead. Given the numerous other polls that have, I’m thinking there’s serious internal bias here.

I created my own RCP electoral map with Trump winning Florida, Ohio and Nevada, Clint winning Pennsylvania and New Mexico, and everything else going as expected.

Clinton/Kaine 264
Trump/Pence 274

What were the internals?

All you really need to know is that they polled "registered" voters vs. "likely" voters. B.S. in, B.S. out.

Yes, and Mark Cuban gets a front row seat to view the carnage. He believes HRC is going to defeat Trump at this debate. LOL!

"It is “adults,” it is D+5, and worst, it asks for the “youngest male in the home.”"

+7 is the best the could do with that?

Why would they ask for the youngest male in the home? I mean, if they were trying to be objective.

“You answered your own question.”

I have read that before — a few weeks ago; I thought it was a joke. Talk about blatancy.

Right. I’m one that accepts the polls for that reason, but they are all over the place, and the momentum seems to be going for Trump.
