“I was 12 and would have died to be one of the kids in the movie.”

I just love you for saying that!

If you look at the foot in the air, you can see an elastic wrap on her ankle. She fell off one of the seats and sprained it. She was one of my early screen loves She had a natural beauty that didn’t need much to add to it.

Andrews should have won. She did not because she had won the previous year for poppins.

If I remember correctly, Julie Andrews won for Mary Poppins because she got snubbed for recreating her role in My Fair Lady movie. There were those who didn’t like the choice of Audrey Hepburn, who didn’t sing her own songs in MFL and thought that Julie Andrews got screwed. So it was said that she was awarded the Oscar as consolation for that.

Audrey Hepburn, who didn’t sing her own songs in MFL

According to Audrey Hepburn's biography, she learned the songs and expected to sing them in the movie, but the producers decided to use Marni Nixon's voice.
