Lawyers in the Oregon standoff trial Friday seated a jury of 12 people, plus eight alternates, allowing opening statements in the much-anticipated, high-profile case to proceed as scheduled Tuesday morning.
The panel includes eight women and four men who come froma wide cross-section of the state. Most of them had little prior knowledge about the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in eastern Oregon, according to statements they made during jury selection....
Ammon Bundy and his six co-defendants have pleaded not guilty to conspiring to impede federal employees from carrying out their work at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney County through intimidation, threats of force. Five of the defendants also are charged with possession of a firearm in a federal facility. Two face an additional charge of theft of government property.
The case stems from the 41-day occupation of the refuge, which began Jan. 2 and lasted through Feb. 11....
The judge plans to provide preliminary instructions to jurors, then start with opening statements. Assistant U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Barrow is expected to give the opening statement on behalf of the prosecution; Ammon Bundy lawyer Marcus Mumford is expected to go next.
Each defendant has the right to deliver an opening statement. The judge has signaled that opening statements could spill over into Wednesday......

So far, what I’m seeing from the judge leads me to believe the outcome of this case is pre-ordained.
I was reading some of the comments and it struck me how Progressives cannot communicate without demeaning and insulting people they don’t like. Everyone is a stupid knuckledragger that just doesn’t get it.
So, the Government murders a citizen, and the citizens are on trial?
