Would Hillary Clintons critics love her if she was a man? The gameplan of Democrats and liberal pundits this campaign season has been disrupted mostly to their benefit by Donald Trump; win or lose, Trump is the dominant storyline of the 2016 election. But as we head into the fall stretch run, the preferred narrative of Hillary Clintons partisans for 2016 and beyond is re-emerging: that she is Women and any opposition to her is opposition to Women.
The latest entrant in this narrative though by no means the first comes from Peter Beinart at The Atlantic, in an article unsubtly entitled Fear of a Female President, as sort of a bookend to Andrew Sullivans notorious 2007 Atlantic piece on how Obama was going to transcend the Baby Boom eras culture wars (good thing we have none of that after eight years of him!). Beinart writes: Except for her gender, Hillary Clinton is a highly conventional presidential candidate. Shes been in public life for decades. Her rhetoric is carefully calibrated. She tailors her views to reflect the mainstream within her party. The reaction to her candidacy, however, has been unconventional.

Leftists are stunned when anyone deviates from their tribal identity.
Oops.
Left out Nurse Ratched
Who wants to be screamed at for four years?
Her voice and her non stop nagging. I cannot stand to hear either her or The Empty Chair speak.
I guess for females she might remind them of being teenagers and being bounded by their mothers.
LOL
“mostly to their benefit by Donald Trump”
Stopped reading this stupidity right there..,,
WELL DONE!
Peter Beinart Cant Imagine Any Reason But Sexism For Disliking Hillary Clinton

But wrt Palin this same Peter Beinart did not see sexism.

Why has America turned on Sarah Palin? Obviously, her wobbly television interviews haven't helped. Nor have the drip, drip of scandals from Alaska, which have tarnished her reformist image.
I think she’s got a terrible personality. She has absolutely no warmth.
Beinart isn’t very imaginative, is he? Perhaps he should actually ask one of his conservative friends why she is so despised. Oh, wait - one of his conservative friends. I think I see the problem here.
Why would anyone care what this nobody thinks?
He a gamma-male, juice box jackass.
Next.
National Review?
Must be another NeverTrumper!
Not even gonna bother reading this trash.
Should he question the same “Woman Haters” for also hating Hitler, Stalin, Mao and many other “democRATs” for the same reason they hate hillary’s belief system?
Sounds like one of those guys who looks for tampons in the men’s room.
It sounds as though Beinart might be one of those leftist fairymen.
You don't know how much you think like I do. This guy is in pink fairy land.
Margaret Thatcher did not have a league of publicists and propagandists promoting how strong she was as a sex on a daily basis. President Obama is the most effeminate male political leader that I have ever seen and he belongs in a “Black Adder” television series for posterity. Hillary is the most males-are-for stage-props-only oriented presidential candidate I have ever seen.
Clinton: I wanted to be a fur trapper!
With my best gal by my side, we’d sing.
Sing sing!
But some frickin’ French Canadian bullies stole our pelts.
That scheme fell apart immediately after the first poll Dick Morris took for them showed Hillary had no chance in hell for elected office because her unlikabiliy number were off the chart.
In the words of a liberal activist who had many common friends and associates of Hillary upon meeting First Lady Hillary in person, “ I have always heard from friends that you were a real bitch, but you are not just a bitch, you are a total f**king bitch”.
Hillary's unlikability goes way back and Hillary earned her reputation for unlikability the old fashion way - one person a a time.
