Thank you for the response. The congressional invasion vote was in Oct 2002, the Stern question was in Sept.

“I get the feeling you have never lived outside of United States. That could explain your lack of understanding of the middle-east.”

I’m retired Navy. I’ve spent time in the middle east, and lived abroad for well over 20 years. Perhaps it is your understanding that is wanting.

“The entire blame for the Iraq debacle does not lie with Obama.”

I didn’t say that it did. He was handed a situation, and made every possible mistake.

“He gets only 25% of the blame for hasty withdrawal.”

He gets more than that. He should have turned our special operators loose with instructions to terminate the breathing privileges of every last enemy combatant.

“The other 75% lies on shoulders of George W Bush.”

I have said a couple of times now that he should have skipped the “nation building.” It is worth remembering, though, that most of the casualties in Afghanistan occurred under Obunghole.

“The simple reason is Iraq was primed for chaos as soon as American military left Iraq.”

Most of that was the fault of the traitors in Washington who saddle our military with lunatic rules of engagement. We should have been concentrating on eliminating the enemy, and they had us persecuting our own military for the slightest misstep in the heat of battle.

“Americans would never tolerate coffins draped in American flag coming year after year from Iraq.”

As I recall it, they did, and from Afghanistan as well.

“Even more brutal fact is that US Treasury is bankrupt and we just do not have the money to fight prolonged wars.”

I keep saying that we should have killed Saddam and bailed.

“Iraq and the middle-east was destined to end up in chaos and under the control of jihadists the moment Bush invaded Iraq.”

Wrong. The corksoaking traitors in the State Department produced that chaos by refusing to work with any of the Iraqi leaders who could have prevented it. Sounds like you weren’t paying a lot of attention at the time.

Screwing up a good idea doesn’t mean it was a bad idea. It just means it got screwed up in the execution. That will happen every time as long as the State Department remains packed with agents of influence for foreign powers.

“The results are your best proof.”

The results only tell us that it got screwed up. They don’t tell us *how* it got screwed up.

It got screwed up because Obunghole-voting, Rotten-Cankles-supporting, America-hating leftards intentionally screwed it up.

“We can argue until we are blue in the face, but actual results are always the correct answer.”

Benjamin Franklin said, “...for having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged by better information or fuller consideration to change opinions even on important subjects which I once thought right but found to be otherwise...”

I actually grew up surrounded by Muslim families in Western India. Half of my childhood friends were Muslims. I got know their families and their outlook on religion first hand and up close.

There are 2 things you are missing in your thinking.
1. You have no idea how bankrupt we are as a country. Every living man, woman & child in America already owes $63,492 in national debt, and it is growing as we speak. We have no money getting involved in any foreign wars anymore, unless a foreign army invades our country.
2. Americans value time. There is no way in hell Americans would tolerate a hundred year war with soldiers getting killed in the middle-east. The Muslims in Middle-east have been fighting for 1400 years. Time means nothing to them.

Where do your loyalties lie?

“There are 2 things you are missing in your thinking.”

Nonsense. Survival is paramount, whatever it costs.

“There is no way in hell Americans would tolerate a hundred year war “:

Why should they? The war could be won in six months if we had loyal Americans in charge.
