MILLERSBURG, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in the heart of Ohio's Amish country say they arrested more than 70 people in a raid at a weekend party in a field that was expected to attract hundreds of Amish youth.
More than 40 officers converged Saturday on the Hardy Township field after concerned parents notified the Holmes County sheriff's office of a large party expected to attract over 1,000 Amish from Ohio and neighboring states.
Investigators say 73 people, including 35 juveniles, were taken into custody and charged with underage consumption of alcohol.

My buddy’s retired father has a healthy income from driving the amish to and from their work sites. They own the truck, but he has to drive it.

Millersburg is in north central Ohio, they were expecting Amish from Ohio and neighboring states. Just how far do Amish travel in those horse-drawn buggies? It would take several days to get there.
To: Morgana
Wait a minute.
You mean real Amish???

They rent vans all the time. PA, IN, and Michigan aren’t that far, just a few hours drive. These kids will have cousins living all over and they all have cell phones, at least until they join the church.
We were there this past weekend and saw nothing beyond an organized softball game, and an organized volleyball tournament, both of which are very common summer weekend activities.

I don't think the Amish even know what exactly they believe. Kind of like many secular Jews, cafeteria Catholics, Scientologists, etc.
