Police: Student fatally stabbed in 'large fight' on Cornell campus

(CNN) — One Ithaca College student was killed and another was injured after being stabbed during a "large fight" on the nearby Cornell University campus early Sunday in Ithaca, New York, officials from both schools said.

Cornell University Police were called to the intersection in front of Olin Hall, which houses Cornell's school of chemical and biomolecular engineering, just before 2 a.m. There, they found two men had been stabbed, according to a police news release.

This is so funny, how there are different versions that we remember from years ago.

The NY Daily News has additional details and photos. It was a brawl involving a "black" fraternity:

The orientation week party was hosted by the Cornell chapter of Omega Psi Phi, a predominantly African-American fraternity. Police said hundreds of people attended the student-organized event and several fights broke out as the bash at Willard Straight Hall, the student union, came to an end.

Witness Trevon Hanks, 22, a student at the nearby Tompkins Cortland Community College, told The News that the mayhem escalated quickly and he saw a person “covered in blood” on the ground as women held him and yelled for help.

“I saw a bunch of girls and two guys arguing about something,” Hanks said. “I was in the car and took a wrong turn and I came back around and he was bleeding and a bunch of girls were helping him out.”

Ithaca Police officials said surveillance footage shows “numerous persons” recording the fatal fight on their phones, though no footage of the brawl emerged publicly.

The local media is studiously avoiding mentioning the black fraternity angle so far, instead referring to the party as a "student event" or even just a "fraternity" one.

Ithaca is the City of Evil.

This statement would lead one to believe that the killer must be a white supremacist because who else would oppose such a principled young man. Logical? I suspect it was one of those folks he was trying to empower who did him in.
