Partly cloudy refers to the portion of the day. Mostly cloudy refers to the portion of sky coverage. So it will be more than 50% clouds during some part of the day.

I don’t like Tuesday here ‘cause it says it’ll be 101. NOT happy.

It’s been tolerable here. There was a good hot spell back in May.
Then it cooled a bit and rained quite a bit. Didn’t really turn to summer until the first week of August or so.
We have been spared the heat most of the country is getting...

Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day's useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none.
New mother picks up and suckles her son,
Senior citizens wish they were young.
Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white,
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion? I like Tuesday afternoon, myself.

I figured that, too, but it does look a little curious...

I think 7PM will definitely be the nicest part of the day’s weather ;)

Not sure what the big deal is. There is a difference between mostly cloudy and partly cloudy in weather forecasting.
The "M. Cloudy" is for the daytime, meaning it will be a mostly cloudy day. And the "P. Cloudy" is for the night, meaning there may be some stars out here and there.

Been in the triples since late June. We had a few days here in the high eighties, low nineties this past week, but by Tuesday we are supposed to be back to the triple digits again. Sick of it.

I once worked at a TV station where I was given the job of describing the weather for the following 7 days using only 18 letters and spaces and a single mandatory carriage return for each day’s weather. And worse, I couldn’t use any more than 9 letters and spaces before I had to use up my dreaded carriage return.
This was a difficult and demanding job and eventually led to me committing suicide using a weather vane that I had filed to knife-like sharpness.
That was a long time ago.

How come in the daytime if there are some clouds, we say “It’s partly sunny”, and at night when there are some clouds we never say, “It’s partly MOONY”? :-)

Anyone reading my posts would easily conclude that I didn’t. I’m finding it very difficult dealing with my suicide and it affects my writing. Plus I’ve developed a totally irrational fear of weather vanes. Go figure.

And, amazingly, with very FEW exceptions! :)
