Trump's Weirdo Doctor Uses Windows XP, Which Could Be a Violation of HIPAA

NBC News has a new article about Donald Trump’s doctor of 35 years, Dr. Harold Bornstein—the guy who claimed that Trump, if elected, would be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.” The dude looks like a character from a bad 70s porno flick, but Deadspin’s Tim Burke spotted something weirder: Dr. Bornstein is using Windows XP.

Why does it matter if Dr. Bornstein is using an outdated operating system? Well, it could be a violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP back in 2014 and HIPAA requires doctors to make continued security updates to their systems to protect the privacy of the information they collect on their patients.

Information stored on a computer running Windows XP is potentially at risk and the security community pretty universally regards Windows XP as unsafe at this point. So... best of luck, Mr. Trump?

I have found XP to have so few services that it is hard to hack sometimes.

Wait that is Windows 95!

So what system was Hillary’s doctor using that some of her health details have been hacked and leaked?

Maybe he’s still getting XP Updates ?

Yeah, that is what most people don't realize. Microsoft is still releasing updates for enterprise users.

As long as there is a chance to bash Trump, everything is on the table. I guess.

..... ‘Windows Embedded Industry’ (previously ‘Windows Embedded POSReady’) which will last until 2019. Embedded Industry is designed for use in industry devices across retail, manufacturing, healthcare and – you guessed it – the operating system is based on Windows XP Service Pack 3.

It was a short line to be drawn between Buzzfeed and our modern media.

Buzzfeed now controls more of what you see and hear than any single company in the world.

His file servers may not be XP. Just cause he has an XP on his desk does not mean patient records are stored on that specific computer.
